Yes, that’s an exaggerated illustration to show a warped rotor :D

 

In real world, you need to dial gauge to measure the rotor run out, I just checked the service manual of my bikes, on average, the maximum run out allowed is 0.2mm. Unlikely to spot it with naked eyes.

 

Your finger will feel the pulsation at the brake level if you applied brake to a bike on the move with warped rotor. The high spot on a warped rotor will “kick” back the caliper piston via the brake pad and transfer this “kick” to you finger hydraulically.

Another feeling in case you can't really feel the pulsation in your fingers is a more obvious case (More serious too), when you're braking, you actually feel jerking in your braking even though the brake lever is held at a fixed squeezed position.

Erm, any clues to inconsistent brake force? Like when you press 40% force you get 30% den pass a threshold den the brake comes. It's like a stiff lever..

 

How abt little lever travel? Some brakes with ample travel very easy to modulate the brakes. Some with little travel like on/off hard to modulate.. Any tips on how to acheive/set ample travel?

Thanks bro...anyway what makes the brake disc warp? As i can see nowadays many cubs are using the oversized brake disc..is it dangerous to ride if the brake disc warp? and any easier way to find out whethet the disc is warp?

brake disc warp happens when...

after some major braking, u still maintain pressure on the brakes, thus the pads and disc are always in contact. the heat from the braking coupled with the pressure from your brake pads would deform the brake disc. as this cycle repeats over and over again, the deformations becomes big enough for you to feel it when u brake..

 

so... try to use more front brake and less rear brake.. once u stop, and if u need to use the brake to keep yourself steady, use the less hot rear brake and don't apply full force; just enough to keep yourself steady. doing this prevents heat build-up and keeps ur disc from warping. cheers.
