Need to get my fz1s (2010 model) front forks replaced.

Any got any idea where is the best place i should get them replaced?

Anyone knows whoever is selling them 2nd hamd?

Or is there any 3rd party forks out there to recommend?

Good day all,

 

I'm experiencing some hard start-up when my engine temperature is at 71+-, therefore I actually gotten a PC3, wanting to go for a dynojet as I have been experiencing the problem after I changed to an aftermarket exhaust.

So, I tried calling up HKL to check out today and they quoted me $250 for the dynojet (which I find that its quite reasonable) but then, they also added that I would need to purchase an Optimizer which would cost $280?! Which without it, they wouldn't be able to dynojet the lower rpm settings.

 

At such, I did some research on the O2 sensor aka Optimizer (correct me if I'm wrong) and it is something that adjusts the AFR to 13.6:1 and the PC3 and dynojet would not be able to change that AFR.

 

So, my question is, would the O2 sensor aka Optimizer work as a stand-alone? or can I just dynojet my bike without the O2 sensor aka Optimizer? or I die die have to get the optimizer and dynojet my bike with PC3?

On a budget for this month but the hard start-up is making me worried.

Guys, need any feedback from anyone who knows:

I have a Non-Street Legal end-can (Yoshimura). If I were to use it and go for Dyno-tuning and Mapping (after install a PC3/PC5), and after sometimes I decided to change back to stock pipe. Will it effects the tuning & mapping done before?

 

Appreciate any feedback.

Just to share since i encountered wat u asking.

 

1) i just recent repair e magnetic coil. Cost around 1k. Bike is 5 year old. E fault is tat e magnets r suppose to be pasted on e wall of e container which contains e coil. My case was tat e magnets dropped and move around inside e container thus hitting e coil causing it to break too. For this fault, it is possible tat only coil will malfunction. Mine was more unlucky becoz even e magnets also break thus both e container with magnets and coil ve to change.

 

Symptom is tat when u start up e bike, like lack of power. Becoz e coil not working and it is related to ur battery charger, high chance ur battery will become drain. Then on e move bcoz unable to charge batt, may stall and unable to start becoz batt dry. e symptom is similar to when ur battery is failing too.

 

e shop i went to for e repair also feedback tat yamaha says this is a common component tat is sold.

 

My opinion is tat this kind of mechanical stuff, any brand or model also has a chance to spoil regardless of whether it is common. Its all luck. So enjoy e ride instead.

 

 

2) fc is poor. Think this is becoz of ur wrist control? I can maintain 18km/l quite easily. :)

 

I'm experiencing battery drainage and now the voltage reading is at 11.4-6 when i switch it on, i just changed my battery about 2 months ago, was working perfectly fine when starting up even at temp between 71-80 but now, I have to start up the engine with a bit of rev and even if my bike is at temp71-80, it will start up without any rev but stall after 3-5s.

 

I have changed to an after market exhaust recently but have not gotten an ESRM yet, servo motor still inside but the above problem is making me much more worried, I kept thinking that it could be because I didn't do tuning using a pc3/5 after i change an exhaust but after reading your post, I feel that it might not be that case.

 

At such, any kind advice for this problem that i'm encountering?

 

Bike is a '10 fazer, K&N air filter, Scorpion slip-on and nothing else for now.

try do a online search what is available for fz8 for aftermarket stuffs, tell us what brand of goods u looking for and perhaps we can tell u further.. this is a better way of sourcing rather than we supply u with all rubbish/junks.. lol.. :)

 

for oem, yes u can approach hong leong..

Hi all. Is it legal to modify the rear signal lights to a shorter one so

That the wingrack can be placed closer without relocating the lights

 

anything that need modification out of oem, it's considered illegal.. do it at ur own risk.. :)

you may choose not to go to agent.. they may want you to do this do that get this get that and may cost you more monie..

 

try approach the local dyno shops to query.. :)

Also, reading up a lot of other forums have made me realize that the tuning might not solve the problem of my fz1 hard start-up at temp: 71-80 and now I'm in a dilemma of getting the mech to check if the magnetic coil is broken after reading the post below;

And the weird thing is, I experienced the stalling of engine while in cruising speed like about 6months ago when I was using an Akra slipon and after which I changed it back to the OEM exhaust, it happened for another once or twice and subsequently, it didn't happen again and counting.

 

As I have a voltmeter installed and changed a battery just 2-3months ago, I have realize the tremendous drop in the battery voltage.

From the start when I just changed the new battery, voltage was at 12.4-.6 before I start up.

2-3months later; now, voltage is at 10.8-11.4 before I start up. Engine is able to start up within 2-4seconds though unlike the last time when my battery totally died on me.

 

Anyway, the dilemma i'm in now is that if I should get the mech to check my magnetic coil? but since the stalling of engine while i'm cruising isn't happening anymore but the battery voltage seems to be damn drained even when its new, is it really necessary?

 

I seriously need advice on this from all the experts here. Hahaha.

ok ive heard tat tis beast (FZ1) gt tis problm wif FC. heard ppl change tis problm 'device' to rectify it.

hv a fren wif bmc air filter wif full arka systm w/o pc gaining 240-260 mileage b4 blinking reserve.

nw the help tat i need is tat, wat is the 'device' to change to rectify the FC problm.

i noe some ppl here hv tis problm b4 and solve the problm.

i jz need to noe wat is tis 'device', i noe its nt a aftermarket tinggy, its a oem tinggy.

fyi i only gt 160 den it blinks and its stock. jz see the diffrence frm fully mod of 260 wif stock 160, tats a bloody 100.

really3 need ur help guys on tis. my mech didnt noe much abt FZ1

i not too sure of what is your actual problem.. not experiences in that area.. apologies..

 

but if you are talking about battery drainage issue, there are usually these suspects:

 

1. some device(s) on your bike is draining the battery bit by bit.. it could be anything other than the oem bike itself, from IU to aftermarket electric accessories..

 

2. your magnetic coil, rectifier, battery & starter relay.. they are in a same current cycle.. go by the backwards cycle from cheapest repair..

fz1 with bmc air filter + full akra system w/o anything other things & able to gain 260KM on a 14.6L main tank (17.8KM/L), that is either he is bullsh!ting u or his right wrist is super duper gentle.. if that is the latter, perhaps you could learn from your friend on his secret then share with us here.. we'll be glad to learn from you.. :)

 

just fyi, i'm getting 15KM/L for normal riding, 10KM/L for extreme speed, on my fully accessorized fz1..

 

perhaps you would like to check what accessories you have on your beast, both interior & external.. 2nd hand fz1?

I am riding everything stock FZ1 09 and I can only reach 232km - 235km on main tank petrol. Riding style mostly on expressway and riding min

100km/hr and max 125km/hr.

bmc air filter, renzin voltage stabilizer and plug & go magnet at every spark plug cable.

 

I am wondering how ur friend with mod fz1 can get tt mileage. PLS share.
