i saw africa twin with repsol paint work.. and rider in matching MX gears with all dust..

really nice looking bike.. saw it at KKH around 9:50pm sunday.

Its not paintwork.. its stickers. There's 4 bikes that have the same design. ;)

is this one of them ?? saw this @T parked at the Central Library this afternoon. Beri nice paint job.

Looks to me like only the front windsheld area is stickers. the rest is painted right?

niway, kudos to the owner. Very good looking theme.

and yea... hope u dun mind me photographing...:deal:

arlow2..... any kind soul out there to help me out.... :p

Hi bro, I just got my AT somewhere in JAN this year so not much advice that i can give u as i myself is still learning.

Maybe i ll just share my last six months experience and how i go about choosing the one with a gd deal.

1) Firstly, DONT rush into buying the bike. It took me close to a year to close a deal.

2) Read forums like http://www.AT-asia.org (Local) or http://www.xrv.org.uk for things to look out before buying the bike. These websites are where africa twin owners share their opinions and ask the GURU's for advices.

I came across some main pointers that i wish to share,

a) Sprocket shaft

(Chain should not be over tightened otherwise bearing and output shaft lifespan is limited) Best keep stock

b) Corroded Rim

c) Brake caliper corrosion

d) Sticking choke cable (But dont really understand how to check this)

e) Test for any misalignment.

f) Leakage ( If there is scotoiler then its standard to have some oil at the base)

g) Trip meter

h) Main fuse wiring (Near the Starter relay) This one is minor

Some of these stuff is impossible to check especially if you are buying from someone... so there goes your negotiation skills.

3) Lastly, try bringing someone who is of sound knowledge

Anyway bro, Mileage is not as much of an issue, if it has been looked after it will last for an extremely long time.

Cheers and best of luck

Hi bro, when ure talking abt fuel filter, i guess ure referring to in line fuel filter .... I just changed mine before my last trip. So if you need help .... just buy it at any honda agent and i can assist u $10-$15.... ( Simple task less than 1/2 hour)

Anyway recommended by the service manual to change the filter every 12000km.

Hmmmm Fuel pump ..... i ve never encountered any problem (But i ve heard from my previous owner that if ure fuel pump goes hay wire and fast tickling sound even when ure not in reserve ..... then its time)

i always carry spare under my seat just in case. If you wanna noe a proper method of determining when to change the fuel pump ... feel free to come look at my manual. There is a method ........... But i think if nothing goes wrong better dont touch it ..hehe

Bro for more professional guide from the guru's you can go to http://www.AT-asia.org

cheers man!!

Sure bro no prob .... i ll try and help as much as i can. Price wise, i guess if you search for more, you ll have a rough guage of how the market price is. Anyway, a gd way to benchmark the price is a stock bike. From there have a rough guage of how much the accesories, COE, wear and tear (How much will it cost you to repair it). Factor in all these and have a rough pricelist of your own.

aniwae, i wanna register at at-asia.org but they say my email kana ban... wad da hell.. its my first time logging in....

Hey bro, i experience the same thing as well, try changing to other email.

cheers bro
