If you're refering to the ones that look like original, then I would say its all the same. Just rebadged by the different brands.

kkz,

You can choose to use the Keihin carb with any kit, even with the stock cylinder.

Using the stock pipe with the Z-1 will be the best match for the engine and will also keep you out of trouble should you ever get stopped.

The M-1 kit is pure race and really unsuitable for street use, a stock pipe will not match the M-1 kit.

Pipes

We suspect that the Racing Boy, YY Pang & AHM pipes are made by the same people as they all measure up the same. BM Power is different.

Anyone knows where to get the bracket for mounting the ERP behind the left side fairing (if you sit on the bike, it will be directly in front of your left knee)? Thanks.

Anyone wants the following for 125Z?

a) Mint condition basket (position of basket: in between thighs when you ride)

b) Oversized-brake disc and bracket (local product, used less than 500km)

Price-wise, $5 for (a) and $18 for (b).

Take both, $20.

PM me if interested.

180,

The Z-1 kit can be fitted in under 2 hours. The same for the R-1 as well.

Contact us if you have any interest.

Perhaps it'll be good if you could see StingRhea's bike. Better if you could test ride it. He was the first guy to come up to test our Z-1 and he was initially extremely sceptical of everything. We changed his life...

Thanks, will seriously consider abt the upgrade.

I would share with you guys from day 1 when they posted on this thread looking for people to try out their kits.

Honestly I was super skeptical of them at first.

Cos i just got my bike, thru all my hard earned money, and i was worried that i wouldn't turn out good. I USED to have a friend whu done up his block and cylinder (but that was overbore) and it jammed.

Went to the shop, crammed with Polisport fairings that was just shippped in. :faint:

Went to enquire about the engine mods. I wasn't as lucky like you guys who have a dedicated page for the 125z engine mods. Its all words from the mouth of Bernard and James, and at that point of time they did not even have any samples to show me.

Went back after that thinking whether to proceed on, i decided to give it a try.

I became the first and only dummy to test out the kits, and arranged for a day to do up my bike.

The bike is stripped fairings taken out, slowly doing bit and pieces, and my bike sitting inside that already very small shop, enjoying the air con.

Both Bernard and James did the bike with me till 4AM in the morning. (cos i came late and they were busy in the day.) I mean which bike shop actually does this for you? Then it rained and we all fell asleep. :dozed:

The next day when i tried my bike, it was a very bBIG difference. Was told by James to monitor the mileage. It increased from 25km/l to 32km/l, in addition, now even when riding in a higher average speed. I was totally impressed.

Then, still running a BM Power pipe (Beng Motor in JB ), and a RXZ carb, I was able to clear the stock meter. Yes it does feel fast, and feels great, but as I have been a pillon on a class 2 bike at 180, it doesn't feel as if it was that fast. The meter was inaccurate I presumed. (M'sian stuff mah... :faint: )

So i decided to pump in some cash to get a PWK carb and the VForce reed valves for more power and running premix. I mean why not? The engine is so much more easier to clean, and at stationary you don't waste as much 2T. The throttle turn feel is lighter and the bike is a tad more responsive. The bike felt even bettter when and as changing to the No-Toil filter helped improve air flow.

Everything went off smoothly, till i had the urge for more power, by then I've run 6000kms on this kit itself. I requested for a R1 kit, And after fitting it with the reccomended pipe, I was grinning all the way~ :cheeky:

So far so good, its well worth the money spent for the long term in mind.

Thank you, Vector One!

Hi Kawboy,

2 stroke engines requires regular top end overhaul.

(Our owner's manual suggest a rebore and piston change. While of course some other bikes go for re-plating and a piston change.)

So since you guys do not work on used engines, if I were to go for a Z1 package, when it's due for the next overhaul, does that mean I have to junk the head and get another one from u guys again or is it possible to do some work on the current one that I got from u guys originally?

Cos $450 every 3000km seems a bit excessive to me :cheeky:

And how long do you expect your Z1 blocks to last before it needs to be overhauled or changed (depending on your answer to my first qns)?

Posted

Reddevil76,

2 cycle engines do require frequent top maintenance. Hwoever, this service interval is very dependent on the initial care taken in preparation & assembly and thereafter riding and use of the bike.

We do not change everything when we do maintanence on our bikes, not because it's a cost savings but simply because there's no need to.

For example, removing the cylinder and piston for inspection, the following list of parts WILL be replaced:

Gaskets - top, base, any power valve & exhaust gaskets

The following will be inspected for wear and if required be replaced:

Piston

Piston ring

Piston pin

Piston pin bearing

Seals

O'rings

The cylinder wall if scored will be bored out and a corresponding new piston set installed.

When you buy the Z-1 kit, we will recommend that you buy the new cylinder head as a matched set. This is because we do not know the history of your bike and whether it was modified prior. Also the ridiculous tolerances on stock bikes varies greatly so we will have to start all over on your old part.

When you buy a modified cylinderhead from us, it will be matched to your cylinder and will be suitable for use again if you go for rebores or even when you do decide to to to the R-1 or K-1 kit. We built the cylinderhead for interchangability. No need to do more work on it, unless we tell you to...

It will not cost $450 every 3000km for sure and I would expect the Z-1 kit to last well for years if you do the right things. By this I mean proper and constant use of 2-T, depending on how you ride you will have to inspect and service the top end as required, 6mths or 1 yrly. No requirement to change the whole shebang every time.

Sounds good!:cheer:

But frankly, I still dunno what exactly I'm getting for the Z1 package.

You said modified cylinder head.

Your website says, modified cylinder $250, modified head, $150.

And how about Piston?? Or use back my old piston?

And I am thinking, if I am going to spend $400+ anyway, might as well also send the cylinder for electrosil plating before installing, so can last longer.

Reddevil76 and the rest of you buddies,

Just want to share how running 10 full tank pumps can reimburse the money you spend on the kit~

That will be 5.5 x 30 (as a round down estimation) = 165, and improvement from 137.5 means you save 27.5 x $1.55 (RON 98) = $42.65! Per full tank! 10 x $42 = $420!!!

Wow right?

By the way Reddevil76, the piston will also be modified, and no point electroplating a block with so many casting faults. You run your hand inside the ports and you can get cut easily. One day if there is a chance, show you a new block how much scratches already in it!

You can read more about what will you get in the Z1 kit for basic when you click my signature. :cheer:
