today at pie, exiting to upper serangoon road, i was cutting through the cars. i was in between the kerb and this car. this car passenger opened the door and hit my bike front part, im riding a sp, and the right headlight has a crack in it. then she said sorry, and i rode off, cause i thought that got nothing wrong. when i park my bike, to see the dmg caused, then i realised that the right headlight got a crack.

 

just asking, is it possible to ask her pay for the replacement. i got her car plate number.

That's kinda tough. It seems that you were in the wrong because you filtered between the pavement and the car and failed to ride defensively. Not putting you down but the odds are against you should you try to make a claim.

On the other hand, the passengers need to check back before opening the car door.

What our fellow forumers meant is you have to report to IDAC even if it is a small accident. Pray hard the car owner doesn't report you and claim your insurance, high chances she will win the claim as you are in the wrong.

anyway, i heard from my friend that car theory test got this rule about letting those bikes that squeeze in the middle to go 1st? b4 the car goes.

I dun think got such rule to allow bikes to squeeze in between cars. I think its more to middle lane. Bikes are suppose to follow the traffic rules and ride inside the lane juz like cars.

 

Its dangerous to ride in between cars (which I usually do to get to the destination fast) and we (bikers) have to ride defensively. Take this as a lesson. Good luck to TS.
