Do you still have your papers with you?

Check the ERP unit number and the chasis number first.

And try running thru that bikes number plate to check whether its valid.

On insurance payments, I am not sure but i remember a friend mentioning how a bike was discovered in Malaysia, trucked back to Singapore and the owner have to reregister the bike for riding in sg. There was no mention about returning the insurance money.

i have all the papers. the bike's erp unit is removed, the chasis no. i cant find anywhere. i oso cant confirm it is mine, so may not be a good thing to just looking all over the place for it. but how do i find out if the number is valid? mebbe if the number is invalid, i then can rpt to police to ask them to investigate further.

chassis number is def there one. just look at ur bike manual to locate it or google it, haha. the number should tally the one on ur log card. or u can just report to police and tell them u suspek it's ur bike.

Ok. To see whether vehicle number is valid. you can go to eddies to try or some SAM AX machines. Just pretend you wanted to pay off a summon.

For a more detailed check to see whether the bike and the number plate match, you can check with LTA.

Well, since you have already received your insurance payout, the bike legally belongs to the insurance company....So no worries on your part.

Just call the police and inform them that you suspect the bike to be stolen and abandoned. Then, they will trace the ownership of the vehicle.

i think when I return from my current out-station my bike forks will be heavily corroded & perhaps seat torn by cats too.

I would hate to have my bike towed away just because I wasn't around to tend to it for 3 weeks...

about 2 years back i saw someone posted in the forum he lost his NSR 150, i went downstairs to start bike ready to go out and i saw his bike beside mine..

well the plate number is different. i took a pic and sent to the guy immediately and he said that bike belongs to him. So i called police, they turned up and confirmed that was a stolen bike.

Best thing is that that guy promised a reward in his posting ahah. but in the end. NOTHING! haha. i would settle for a can of lemon tea la but well...

This is the best advice in this situation. Once you have received your claim, any salvage value belongs to the insurer.
