Today I was riding halfway when suddenly at one point i cant feel my bike move when i throttled. I tot is not throttled enough. But its just like

"off engine and turn the throttle feeling." No vibration.

I slowly move to side of road and down to 1st gear. The strange thing is the bike able to move off when at 1st gear. Then all the way to home. Have anyone faced this problem b4?

When on the N.S.H.W, I clutch in at about 130km/hr, to free wheel back to 90km/hr.

When I let go of the clutch and throttle, it was like what the TS said, no vibration, no acceleration either, it was a bit of a Zen like feeling, the whole road was very peaceful all of a suddden, and then I realised that the engine was off by itself, so it was a bit of a shock to me.

Happened twice, but only when at high speeds.

Anyone got a theory why it happened?

Tink something wrong with my wire. Eversince send for welding, then all this light problem, sudden power cut and sudden no light while riding problem came up. I have asked one shop that re wire whole bike need around $90+.

Btw I wanna ask if it worth it. cos my COE expired nov. If I were to renew for 5 year, need bout $770 (Base on current coe). Then plus re wiring and other stuff, add up to above 1k.

Izzit better for me to top up another sum of money to change another bike instead of renewing the COE. Please advise.

what i feel.

there is 3 parts of the bike's life. Mainly the "early failure", "useful life" and "wear out failure".

To me, when the items are new, early failure tend to occur due to design faults, poor quality components, manufacturing faults, installation error and the list goes on. The "useful life" period is when the vehicle is undergoing normal usuage with regular maintenances. "wear out failure" , failure tends to be systematic rather than random.

as from what i understand, it is an old bike near 10 year. i believe promblems might arise. hence, my advise for you is to get a new bike.

just my 2cents. cheers

Try checking your ignition switch. I had the same problem as u described on my nsr sp last time. Turned out the ignition switch was rusty due to long term use. Mech filed it with sand paper for 10 bucks, the connection was reestablished properly and it lasted out the rest of my riding on that bike.

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

If the engine cuts halfway during riding, it may be due to:

[1] The carburetion mixture being too rich or too lean (go for "tuning")

[2] Dirty, old, and/or improperly installed spark plugs.

#1 may apply to the thread-starter's problem. Nevertheless, it's best to get the bike checked out for any other possible symptoms. There may be other symptoms that causes this, but the abovementioned are the closest I can think of.

** Information here applies only to 2-stroke bikes only.

Hi,

Was told that water entered the plug cover. Changed a new plug and black tape the cover. OK liao. Thanks again.
