i believe there are some aftermarket rpm meters (e.g. autogauge brand) which detects the rpm of the engine via a wire tapped to the sparkplug cable

:goodluck:

Its very easy.

Just tie the RPM cable around the spark plug cable three-turns.

The wire will be able to sense the spark plug firing each revolution and send a electrical signal to the RPM meter to display.

I think someone is selling such meter for $70 on SG Yahoo auction.

Do not cut your spark cable lar, u crazy or something.....afterward the bare copper wire will conduct sparks to your bike and to YOU .

Just twist the thin wire around the spark cable, it only serve as to receive magnetic pulses . Read up on your Physics textbook

mine is tap to ignition and batt. i already found the wiring for everything but the place to tap for the signaling i donno where?

the coil is the black thing in the first pic?

the cable got 2 cores leh... one inner and one outer... the outer wan is red while the inner wan is white... from wad i see i htink its too thick for any signal to pass thru... should i try slicing the outer wan(red) and wrap 3 rounds round the inner core(white)??

the diameter for the ngk plug is 6mm diameter..

in total there are 2 red wires 2 black wires and one green wire.

the red one is for meter and light + point and 2 black is for meter and light - point

the green wire is for source point for rpm meter.

ohh paiseh hahaha its an analog meter.... anyone noes?

These rpm gauges must tap from the coil.

Autogauge gauges are designed for cars. Meaning that the gauge is designed to run on either 4 or 6 cylinder engines. There should be a selector on the side opposite the face of the meter.
