is it advisable? what's the benefit of it?

If you notice the used rotor disc after long usage, there are grooves and some are deeper than the others. The shiny surface ones are the one deepest in a normal case. What happen is that when you replace a new pad, full surface contact is less from those of the deeper grooves...thus effectiveness for stoppage is affected. In general and idealy, the rotor disc surface should be as flat as possible.

sorry to interrupt. but if disc brake is bend/warp, is there anyway that we can flatten it by pressing?

dark mode, or light mode?

So far never know of anyone ever doing that lah..but if it warped before...it would have weak infrastructure :giddy: inbetween the metal itself for sure...just a thought...better not lah. If its an indoor use iterm can gamble..but on the move and on the road..kind of worry.

Go along Dunlop street and look for Da Fei De, the shop was along the corner. So far almost all Singapore bikeshop send the bend fork, brake disc, cab mod and many more to this old shop. If the shop had move don't blame me as 19yr never visited them but they willn't move far or can ask Jeffery from Mah motor, may be he will tell u where..

The discs are already so thin. Skimming them will run into the risk of the discs cracking in high heat. Best to get new ones. Safety 1st - it's the only thing that stops your bike.

How time flies...

Big is certainly a warning but small can be downright scary! Never underestimate the effectiveness of small.

is it a case whereby only a thin layer of the disc surface is being skimmed off?

Depends..if the deepest groove is very deep..no point unless you don't mind just superficial glazing it. The worst damage is that when rider don't change their worn out brake pad on time..till the pad metal holder iron scratches the disc...amnnn!!!...that's deep and you can always see this vividly nearer the edge circumference of the rotor disk.

Anyway...I have yet to see or hear of any crack rotor disc in my years of riding..I doubt it would..otherwisewe would hear it from "Ebnduro" races..."warp" yes.
