Difference between speed cam. and Red light cam??

just for instance.. if any of you guys travel down west coast highway from WCP macs. near the wholesale centre,

 

there is one traffic light with many cameras around. are those cameras able to catch u for speeding? or only for beating the red lights.

 

maybe someone can help in this?

IMO, i think if the cameras are put up @ traffic light juctions, then they're most probably for motorist beating the red lights. I dun really use that road though but with many cameras ard; how many cud there possibly be anyway?

u mean the round camera around the traffic light,if it is,it's for surviellnce,of course it can also moniter those vechicle that do illegal U turn or dashing red lights..whether got summon anot,it's recorded.

I think speed cameras are something like this... (see attachment) and these are able to detect your actual speed...

 

And red light cameras are solely for the purpose of catching vehicles who beat the red light...

No lar...chill bro......it's just like those in shopping centre lar...if it's able to detect speed...then those working in the shopping secruity will have no problem tracking those shopperholic shopping speed when there's a sale going on.. haha

Not really for accident.. Those round cameras on top are for yellow box offender... They havent implement the thing yet, but it is recording.. It has been around for years, if not wrong the first camera was at KK hospital junction, i tink around 2005 or 2006, cant remember. If you notice, only junction with yellow box have them...

That vid was taken frm a camera in a yellow box junction... Just happen that the accident occured there. Anyways, its very ver very seldom LTA would release such video for accident investigation....

 

Once they fully implement the camera... You guys not only have to worry about speed camera, red light camera, but also yellow box camera.... And believe me, the camera is very sharp and has very very good zooming capabilities, the clip above was taken frm a pc using a hp thats y so blur one...

it was raining...light amber...brake 'tak makan'... lan lan have to speed up...road limit was 70 n was riding at 90...beat about a split second on red...don't knoe got flash or not cause the light from a car turning right blind me...if kena caught will they charge me for speeding too???
