hey people,

just did my own mod for my piaggio, to install my ram-mount for my phone. quite happy with it and sharing here for anyone who is interested. took all in all about 30 minutes with the help of a friend. am happy with the results.

The installation was done with the follow parts from ram-mount:

RAM-HOL-AQ3U UNPKD RAM SMALL SIZE AQUA BOX

http://www.ram-mount.com/Portals/0/PartImages/Thumbnails/RAMHOLAQ3U.jpg

RAM-B-138U-A UNPKD RAM W/2.47DIA. X 2.47X1.31 A LENGHT

http://www.ram-mount.com/Portals/0/PartImages/Thumbnails/ramb138ua.jpg

The ram-mounts do not come with screws but a visit to the local hardware store solved it easily and cheaply.

Opening up the MP3 to access the back of the dash to screw in the nut was pretty easy too, a total of 13 screws to unscrew and 3 parts to remove.

After installation:

With attachment:

The attachment can be removed/put on easily, within 10 seconds. Height and angle is adjustable without blocking the dash. Best part that it is waterproof. Put my HTC Touch Pro 2 in there, doubling up as a GPS as well.

Hope this helps.

had gone to ah-boy to install a new horn for my bike too.

stebel magnum @ $18

installation charge @ $27

the mechanic there (big boss) had never operated on a mp3 piaggio before and struggled to install it. waited for almost 3 hours to get it done.

unscrewed most of my bike as it was his first, to see how to get it done, so guess i was the guinea pig for him. he finally got it done and was pretty nice about it.

asked him if i had to pay more for the addtional time/man hours he put into it but he decline. offered to pay more and he was reluctant to accept it but i insisted.

really happy with how my horn sounds now...

:p

Stebel Nautilus for $18? That's very cheap!! $18 typically can only get you the Stebel Magnum elsewhere.

Guess I should pay LAB a visit soon to upgrade my horn too.

The 400 iE can run up to 240kph before refilling abt 10ltr.

Anyone knows local dealer for Fabbri or Givi windscreen, planning to get one medium height for better wind buffeting.

Erm bro, you mean 240kms and not 240kph right...
