hey. i gotta ask. i'm 1.5m and riding a honda phantom. my parents want me to switch to a mp3 250 because of its stability. the only thing holding me back is that i clearly can't put my feet on the ground (obviously). granted, there isn't a need to do so when stopping at lights and such. but maneuvering the bike with very low speed ie: parking.. it's gonna be really tough right? plus.. there isn't a reverse gear. can you guys advise? do you really have to push the bike out of its lot? and whether someone of my height is able to get it? thanks!!

 

for me, the 400cc is a 50kg heavier than the 250cc but just nice for me @ 1.68m. feel the weight is stable in strong winds etc. rode a 125cc phantom previously as well so comparing ot that.

 

in terms of parking, especially on slopes, have to be wary. what i'll do it when parking on downslopes, will do it back in instead of head in, so getting out would be easy. if not, will be quite tough to back it up using brute force. just pay more attention when parking on slopes can liao.

 

another way is to leave the wheel (stablizer) lock on and pull it back using the handles at the boot, but that one a bit unglam also lah. last resort too.

 

yeah, go test ride to see how. or join a gathering to see how you stand against them lor.

clar, u can lock the wheels u can just get down and push from the front allowing to be able to use your entire strength where as other bikes u stil gotta maintain balance

1) where's the best place to get a brand new bike? (of coz w gd deal)

hi guys, just curious, roughly how much do i need to set aside(including coe,insurance, etc) if i wanna buy a new 125cc? sorry, i just passed 2b and newbie to bikes. this scooter caught my attention and seems "safer" and it seems to be a good chioce for lazy bums(no offense to mp3 owners!) like me who prefer auto gear. =)

 

anyway, my parents are dead against me learning 2B, much less let me buy a motorised 2wheeler. hopefully, this scooter can convince them as it is like in between a bike and a car?

imo, it's not worth to pay $12k for a 125cc. that being said that the MP3 is not safer than a 2-wheeler (it still depends on the rider), you can explore other small 2b bikes, esp automatic scooters (Yamaha Nouvo Elegance, Fino, eg) which are noob friendly.

 

the urge to upgrade will be high and for a maxi-scooter like MP3, 125cc seems under-powered. I may be wrong, so owners pls correct me if so If you upgrade 1 year down the road, very likely to lose big time.

Get a Yamaha Nouvo Elegance or Fino as what Uncle had said. The mp3 may be too heavy for you to handle.

i ride the mp3 125 after 15years absence....but then i have road experience. IMHO the MP3 125 is underpowered, this is the main reason i upgraded to a silverwing.
