Exactly the same as yours. The rattling comes only when it's warmed up, and especially loud when idling. So far no problem, it just sounds irritating sometimes.

But sometimes i feel that the performance is reduced when that noise appears, it feels like the bike lost a little power. It could be just me, but i doubt so. I asked my friend about it, he said it has sth to do with the valves and i should go for valve clearence at the motordiam.

haha i tot after the stupid service centre change my engine parts now spoil again.. if this sort of noise is kinda normal den nvm lor.. i dun think something 2 do wif the valve lehz cos i went for valve clearance and change EO all be4 i went 2 repair my engine...

juz hoping it's nth serious.. haha

o ya btw my bike also FP plate.. haha.. maybe it's juz the rvf rs models.. haha

The hyperpro is only the spring lar... your spring nothing wrong wad. Is only the shock that is leaking. U got go check with bikelab whether can rebuilt and repaired not.

hey guys, about the sound i hear from my mech said honda bikes is likes that one...it nomal cos i got the sound also so i ask him need to overhual anot..he said no need ever if u overhual u will have the sound too...(dont know is the same sound wif u all anot) hehehe

I think you should delay the hyperpro until you get a check with bikelab. Cos if you really need to change the rear shock, you are really gonna get a SHOCK by the price. 2nd hand one I dunno easy to find a not but a new one can nearly hit 1k.

 

I did ask bikelab abt the PENSKE rear shock and was quoted $1200 for one without a reservoir and $1600 with a reservoir.

 

Anyway, bikelab and K&T also have hyperpro so can ask for price comparison.

asan786 : it's more of a clattering sound like something is abit loose and the vibration of the reving is causing the noise...

Try to listen to see if the sound comes from on top of the engine block or inside the crankcase.

 

From what I know, the sound could be from your rocker arms (or dunno wad it is called but its a metal piece that control the valves opening). If that is the case then its ok. Usually after valve clearance it'll become softer or disappear, but the ticking sound might also still persist.

 

But on the other hand, the sound could have been the knocking of the crankshaft with the conrods. If it's the 2nd case then good luck to you...

ad1da5: hmm i saw the same paintwork at seletar. not sure whether it had wings or not. you don't have hair covering your ears do you? I remember the rider had pretty long hair. With a female pillion upon arriving at seletar.

 

I think the sound will never go away unless the whole bike is overhauled. horrible!

buy the agv lah.. melvin will really need the cash cos went down to arai shop just now in the day and saw the Haga helmet cos $880!

Took 3 working days. They'll strip the shock, service it, fix it back, fill up the oil and nitrogen gas and do the setting swee swee for you.

i think the knocking of the crank shaft and conrod i kanna the first time i took my bike out.. the sound got louder and louder until my engine died and cannot start alr.. had 2 tow back 2 shop.. think they change those stuff for me tat's y asl me 2 run in the engine for 1500-2000km...

any other way 2 ID the differences between both??

for now i'm running in my engine as told by the shop but the stupid calttering or knocking sound is there only thing it's soft.. not loud like be4

the crank case is the the engine itself is it? juz next to the foot rest?? the top of the engine block is juz below the fuel tank?? not 2 sure lehz.. haha
