Yea, possible..Try below to test..

 

Using GPEDIT.MSC To Edit Local Policies On Remote Computers

 

If you don't have an Active Directory running but want to use group policies then all is not lost.

 

Sure, the Local Security Policy tool is nice, but it only gives access to a subset of what group policies can do. Did you know that you can use the standard GPEDIT.MSC snap-in locally and remotely?

 

You can control the local set of group policies on any given workstation or server; just click Start/Run and type in "gpedit.msc," then press Enter. You then have the full access to all of group policy's power (well, actually some of it... some things don't make sense without a domain and you don't see those things). You can even use GPEDIT.MSC to control policies on a remote system with the /gpcomputer: option from a command line, like so:

 

gpedit /gpcomputer:"computername.acme.com"

Where you can replace "computername.acme.com" with either a DNS name or an IP address. In any case, however, it's got to be surrounded by double quotes. And by the way, this works on systems that are members of an AD as well, but remember that domain-based group policies always override any local group policies.

Another method...Use mmc to snap in the gpedit console then pt it to that remote comp..

In short, Win + R -> mmc -> File -> Add/Remove snap-in -> Console Root -> Add -> Group policy object editor -> Add -> Browse -> search for that remote comp
