Fixing sideboxes

Is it hard to fix sideboxes? roughly how much do they cost, and is it hard to ride with them... squeezing etc.

 

Btw are there bikes that cannot put box, for whatever reason.. like esp the 2b bikes, so far i think i only see phantoms with sideboxes..

 

and sideboxes also not very common..

If you are intending to use sideboxes, you have to change your riding style a little bit. They cost about 100+ and u have to drill holes on the sides etc.

i seen kups and pulsar putting sidebox as well.. but not very common though.. no problem squeezing unless you make sharp turns cutting in between bumper-bumper of cars.. otherwise, if you lane split going straight, as long as your stock mirrors go through.. your sidebox will. this applies for phantom. the rest that have sidebox probably can share..

Actually, depends on the box type you fit.

If fitting up large boxes above 36L, might have a hard time squeezing.

Unless there are boxes that fits nicely into the side of the bike, else there will definitely be bulk.

I used to fit soft luggages on my Bike, but too it off. Totally destroy the looks.

 

Best solution i can provide: upgrade to a sports-tourer.

i wish man, i tp 15 dec for 2b...

 

the 2a,2 soon la hopefully next year end can start if i pass first time.

 

So far only phantom looks better with boxes, for 2b non cubs...

 

Also im on an extremely tight budget...

and can smbody share y ah boy givi e33 is so much cheaper than the rest quoted at other shops.is it how he fix.coz other shops will need a wing rack to install.

im also thinking of adding sidebox to my bike. (im riding sp btw, and a single seater one -_- )

too much hassle to lug my jacket, helmet and glove along. and i am intending to get a boots =(

any idea is those soft saddles would be safe? seems that it could be taken away easily with a piece of cutter . .

but then again even with side box, it would be taken away easily with a flat head screwdriver as well

i seen a sp putting sidebox.. looks quite ok actually.. but you put e21 sidebox also cannot put helmet..

haha might be getting a top box as well. but carrying the helmet, im used to it already but not the bulky jacket. those sport soft saddles bag are insane . . they are like 200-300? holy shlt, guess i will get down to lab to look for cheaper alternative

ya i think very interesting also! I think LAB use some brackets, I haven been reading up one E33 as side boxes, quite a few phantoms have it, but haven seen in real life before, I wonder what brackets/base they use!

Side boxes, no worries, you will be a better rider with "side boxes" training!

E33, damn shoik. Can put a lot of stuff. Eh, squeezing still ok la!

 

did at hua chin, $60 for workmanship, lights, drill hole in my bike, and one baseplate (i had 2 boxes and 1 base plate).

 

Ya overall very happy, that day wash bike, never fix properly, go over one hump box drop damn paiseh hahaa..

my side box training is horrible...

 

one time I squeeze the handlebar through, but box stuck...

 

one time never cleared right hand side *SMACK* the hinge of the right box badly damaged by a metal swing gate

 

lol dropped bike twice already... left box tanking all the damage... so sorry left box

things to consider.. fc drops with adding these boxes. Givi slim selling at $110 a pair along kelantan lane.

dun think got any special tuning involved leh. i do everything normal only leh. riding style also normal acceleration. when i pump during day time when it is hot, manage to get 38 per L. when i pump during wee hours of morning, when its still cold (6.45am), i managed to get 40 per L. max speed i go is 110 on speedo and sometimes to over take will speed up to 120.
