i have a question. Whenever i tried to Drag my 1st gear up to 4 or 5K RPM, its very hard and difficult to kick up to 2nd gear after draging the 1st gear. Even when i stop and start off from 1st gear again, this time w/o dragging the gear and change to 2nd, its still hard to kick up. like its stuck.

Anyone bro out there have similar problem. I am riding Vtec.

there are 2 filiments in a bulb.

1st one is for lighting (most s4 are set to light up when the bike is on)

2nd one is for signal and hazard. (only when u switch the buttons)

 

that meant your 1st filiment is spoil. but still can signal and hazard.

you can just change the bulb or just spoil the other side bulb.( so both will not light up) (by tapping on the bulb when it is very hot to spoil the 1st filiment)

Fren riding Version S,if i take out the spark plug cap and found coolant stains on it,is it a serious problem?

and when i start engine,there is a ticking sound cuming out from the engine. Problem? Thanks,hope can find answer here. thanks :sweat:

Help needed by my frenz.

 

So hope that any experience guys here can help to solve his prob.

 

His bike got this strange prob...

 

when his bike is cool, the coolent in the reserve reservoir will fall to the level below the low marking but when his bike is hot the coolent in the reservoir will rise until the niddle level between the low and high mark. That puzzle me as for wat i know, if i am not wrong, the coolent shall be at the middle marking and when hot then it will fall to the low marking.

 

Another prob is, he need to top up the reserver coolent quite often, as the coolent level will drop jus after one or two days. But there are no leaking detacted.

 

So hope someone out there kind enough to guide wat had happened to his bike. Thank alot !

found coolant stains on spark plugs.

coolant supposed to be there? guess not. yes, its a VERY serious problem. my guess is (minor) a gasket or tube somewhere is old, worn out or burnt off, or (major) a crack in the engine. ur fren can stand-by for a couple of things: overheating and/or piston jam (apart from the misfiring spark plug).

 

ticking sound? u hide a clock somewhere? :cheeky: sorry i've no idea. timing chain maybe?

for mine the ticking sound comes from my headers ...a slightly leaking header gasket

loud pop sound means ur barburettor need servicin and tuning, the petrol doesnt burn properly.. air mixture.... go combine or planet for servicing

al demon, if u wana save money, swap ur right bulb to the left and u'll noe one of ur filament is burt. aniwae a bulb is cheap lar...

i have no idea why ur friend's bike like that. however there's a few things he should be concern with (especially evaporating coolant).

 

not all coolant leaks are detectable. no leaks visible means no leaking from pipes only. he may want to check the coolant cap, coolant may have escape in the gaseous state (coolant heat up turn to air). can replace the coolant cap easily (which is also quite cheap). then also, consider whether coolant has leaked into the engine through old, worn or broken gasket. can check engine oil, if u see the oil as milky or creamy, then its confirm. need to change gasket (among other stuff).

Hi all,

jus got my S4 ver S from someone.

Would really like a good workshop whereby the mechanic is very experience wif S4 so he can check if there's anything wrong wif my bike.

Currently, i feel that it's really underpower compared to my friend's ver S.

Pls offer some recommendations whereby the mechanics are really good but not overpriced. thanks

here, most people recommend planet in ubi and combine in sim ming.

myself, i go to mah motor agencies opposite lavendar food court. both mechanics ride super4 (vers and pb1).

the places mentioned do not belong to the cheap category. but their prices r competitve and still reasonable.

EO changed twice already. The problem was there before and after the EO changed out.

As for clutch free play, I will check it out. But, the free play will only affect the 1st to 2nd gear change? Because as I mentioned when I change 3rd to 6th gears, there is no problem at all.

Hi,

help change EO for my fren last week,found no mixture of coolant with EO. Nv heard overheating frm my fren. Radiator fan is working too..anyway,thanks for ur advice,hope for my fren its just a worn off object somwhere. Thanks :cheeky:

Hi all. I am newbie here. 1 of very rare Msian CB400 Spec II owner. My bike just clocked 42K on mileage. My prob is whenever i speeding at high speed (more than 130km/hr), my bike felt sluggish and sometimes jerking. Done carb wash and retuning, valves clearance adjustment, change air filter (K&N), replaced spark plugs, blow through breather valve at fuel tank, replace engine oil, filter etc and even upgrade main jets but the problems still persist. At times it running ok hence i manage to maintain 160km/hr at 3/4 throttle.

Can anybody help me with this problem? My mechanics is scratching his head now trying to identify the root cause.

Is there anything to do with fuel tank's cap? Thanks

how many litre of engine oil does a VerS need to change?

change without oil filter: ?

change with oil filter: ?

 

does VerS has lesser amount of oil than V-tec? :help:

ok. but ask ur fren to continue monitoring, especially coolant reservoir becos its easily forgotten when its hidden behind the cover.
