hi guys ... ive currently bought a S4 Ver s ... err.. just a few days back onli... er.. for the first three days i could start at one time pressing.. now when i press.. then starter seem makin it start.. unless i give it some oil then can start?? anyone can advice... and i notice the headlight is always on.. issit possible i can off the headlight off.. or something to switch it off? possible?.. any advice?

you can ask bikeshops to do a switch for you so that you can on/off the headlights.. alternatively can diy also.. anyway i need to press + throttle then my engine can start..

another issue.. my handle bar very difficult to lock what might be the problem? i try full left turn cannot.. not full left turn also cannot..

i tried already.. 1 day i tried full left turn then slowly turn right bit by bit.. my key just refuses to turn to the handlebar lock.. its take a very long time and me sweating profusely before i can lock it.

My suggestion is disc lock or any small lock to loop into the hole of disc is also a good deterrence measure on unauthorised movement....

planning to invest in a 2way alarm.. just thinking of which 1 would be value for money..

 

whats the ideal voltage the batt shd have? during idling, rev etc etc. thanks

 

my voltage reading

before crank: slightly less than 12v.

when cranking: about the same as before crank. probably +.2v

idle: 12v +- .2

rev: 13v. sometimes go to 14v.

when brake lights on: doesnt affect.

signal lights on: jumps from 12 to 12.4v.

 

 

all stock lights other than headlight, i think mine is night breaker/ diamond vision. cannot remember.

try spray with wd40

sprayed a little into the keyhole already.. still the same.. realised a technique to handlebar lock already.. i actually need to turn slightly away from full left.. press down and turn it to the left.. hear a click sound then turn more to the left to fully lock the handlebar..

wonder if this is normal.. :s

Two things you should note.

1) Side stand must be up at other gear, engine will stall/not start. The only gear that engine will start with side stand down is neutral gear.

". Engine will not start when clutch is on...frust man...any help"

 

2)Two possibilities, electronic has intermittent contact problem or

Too much load, move off at too high a gear like gear 2/3. Try moving off at gear 1.

"eng shut down"

 

Idle almost 2k rpm, will drive the engine to overheat easily must tune it down to 1.3k rpm (recommend). Rectify would charge battery at this rpm. Prolong ldle at 2k rpm will cause black smoke to be release from the engine. Just note.

 

Next, thing to note is engine overheat problem, if it happened even once, do push your bike into workshop to check for coolant leakage.

To all the S4 owners heres my problem with my S4 ver.S

. Idle almost 2k rpm

. In the morning after warmup first gear will have wild jerk and eng shut

down, to avoid this hold clutch on first gear shake till free then start.

. Engine will not start when clutch is on...frust man...any help.:sweat:

Engine oil or petrol... either one recommend that you tow bike to workshop.. will do alot of damage to the engine if there is not enough engine oil to cool down S4.

i also recently encounter this problem but mine not eo but very sticky and chucky 1. my mech told mi is after lube chain sure like tat. scare mi dunno why got large chunk black oil on floor too. haha

How long is your pro-long parking? If park for a week may need to use choke to start but should not affect moving off... your symtoms quiet abnormal maybe should sent for check up.

 

Ver S is a good bike but old liao some parts may need to change.

 

Where do you stay?

i juz bought this super4 recently, and the first week it's alr giving me prob!

 

the engine will juz cut off out of sudden while i'm moving on the road! the engine seems extremely hot. at first i tot there was insufficient engine oil, but i check the oil lvl, it was gd. i went back for servicing, the mech changed radiator liquid, still the same prob. went back 2nd time and left it for them to fix it, but the same thing still happened!

 

any ideas or solutions? it's damn dangerous for me to ride this way =(

hi lyx87.. did you let your engine warm up for a little while before moving off? and at what speed did your engine die off? i encountered my engine dying off at very low speed.. almost to complete stop.. then the engine just dies off.. i let my engine warm up for a while before riding off then no more problem already..

Hi, sorry to hear about your bad experience... could you PM me the shop name. Thanks...

 

When upgrading from 2B to 2A, you could experience the change in temp... 2A engine is slightly warmer... but not hot.

 

Your mech should be able to form a hypothesis of the problem, did he describe it to you? If not got to ask... or eventually find a workshop that does.

 

As a layman, i would ask whether there any blockage in the coolant circulation, if there is unclog the blockage... second thing check coolant pump... whether they need to replace one.... Next, check engine oil circulation whether they need to replace the oil filter..

 

That's what i will check with them... if others have better inputs do share... must learn to be a bit more bike savvy to avoid being their next carrot.:cry: :cry:

Siao lio... depend on shops... engine servicing is very pricey for most shops..

I ordi suspect engine liao, since you just bought from the shop ask them what they want to do about it. Tell them you will post your whole story online and seek CASE help if you are not treated fairly....

 

Check with them the exact work that needed to be done. Easily to get quote for the work if they get too guilan and there a need to go for another workshop.

 

I have deal with Unique motor sports a few times and known them to be reasonable and responsible people.

If your engine keeps dying off, it might also be carb related problems... might be the jets... so check those cheaper stuff first loh...

okay happens to mine too, but only when idling after riding..like say a few km, then you happen to stop at a traffic light.. 80% chance of it stalling. no idea why, unless i keep revving it..

 

so, i sent it to unique.. well prev owner sent it there well for over 2 years already...

 

so more or less they already know the bike right ?. all the mech kinda like know the bike already and kept asking whether i bought this from Mr. X..

 

anyways, he tuned, and made the jettings bigger, together with new throttle cable, costs be about $235. .

 

well i thought it was good..

 

then the mech tested, and he says, well it's done..

 

so after riding a few km, i felt more pick up and power..

 

but when idling, OMG, you won't believe this, it was 3krpm !.

 

so after that i let the engine cool down a little and adjusted the idling knob, you know the centre part of our carb, i turned it anti clockwise and set the idling to 1krpm.

 

it was all fine when the idling drops and engine stalls easily again..

 

now, when i start the bike, theres this funny fast ticking sound. before there was the ticking sound too. only this time, faster.

 

and the worse thing is, when i try adjusting the knob for idling again, it just wont change . seems like the idiling knob thingy isn't working or something.. i twisted it clockwise and anticlockwise, still no diff in idling response..

 

and i dont feel like gng back to unique anymore.

ticking sound from engine area? is it the timing chain? ok i better not give wrong advise.. if you dun feel like going back, can always find another bikeshop.. i personally go to planet..

Maybe u can try sit on the bike without the side stand.After around 10 sec then start the engine to see if the ticking sound will go away.My bike do have ticking sound only when engine is cold.Seem like the engine oil take more time to travel upward when bike is park with side stand and over night..

Hey guys.... i recently bought a super four spec 1 juz wondering y if i had a pillion and going thru a hump, my pipe will kena the hump.... i've installed the extention of suspension but still it will hit my pipe.... i think previous owner got down fork but not sure.... can sumone enlighten me with their answers??

Hey bros..need advice on my s4..i just top up my coolant 2 days ago and found out dat its empty today..izzit coolant leakage? if doing coolant flush will solve the problem? if not wat shuld i do n how much will it cost to fix it...
