Troubleshoot ur Super4!

yesterday after stop start traffic at customs...on off engine n ignition.....found headlight no more.....all the way til jb shell try alternating between high n normal beam....no light even on the indicator for high beam...after switch off+top up petrol............switch back on it came to life again...

 

any problem coming up?? fuse problem, bulb problem or wiring problem?

my passing light works......n my headlight also work....happen once last nite it doesnt ...once this afternoon it doesnt again......maybe the starter switch connection got problem is the initial guess....it link to some kind of relay (maybe non physical item but similar effect) which off ur headlight momentarily as u crank ur engine........tomorrow will b finding out more at workshop

maybe ur start buttom is jam, notice when u wan to start bike u push the start buttom, the headlite will go off........ next time this happen again try to push the start buttom again........

if your start button is jammed, your started will not release also... you dun wan that to happen, really...

open the switch on ur right hand side. there is a wirewhich got disconnected. juz solder back. git tis prob which i troubleshoot for a few daes.

hey guys thanks....think mostly spot on....although not yet open up the starter assembly..got advice by 2 other mech as well, pointed the same way

....will do so next week.....headlight no problem for the past 2 days...cross my fingers...

Hi guys,

 

1. I am riding a FY plate Spec 3. Been having some problems on the fuel consumption part.

 

2. I have been riding it for 2 months leow. Full tank is 18 litres. When I just bought the consumption was around 18 litres can last 340 km. Now 18 litres can last only up to 250 litres! A difference of 90 km!!! My riding was normal, no ramming of engine.

 

3. Please advise what I should do. I will be sending my bike for checkup. But b4 I go, I need to know what is the situation or else go motor shop kana tok , must change this change that...

ehhh same ley me around there.... but mine is a vtec. y not u try broquet, say to proven to save petrol and more power....i tink motor x sellin. btw the more frequent u ride above 6krpm where the vtec opens, the more petrol consume. especially if u like to drag.

anyone can i advise me where to something (WHATEVER) for coating of my ehaust , it get rusty liao ,i see some S4 bikers spray something that looks like a coating .ANY IDEA?

sand paper the exhaust, cleanse with water and dry, than spray wif high temperature spray available at any diy shop. look up at s4 component cost.. they said atan ubi doin..

the DIY shop beside LAB have. tis kind of spray jus get from any paint shop will do

1. You can actually chrome it at Ban Hon workshop at AMK Industrial Park 2. They quoted me $60.

 

2. If you go JB regularly, I was advised by some JB motor shop friends not to make your exhaust pipe so "chio", because it will subject to higher chances of your bike kana stolen!!

i am a regular in going to JB ....anyway thanks a lot bro cliff95066, i just want to maintain my bike well enough so i can sell to others at tip top condition ....

anyway 60 bucks for chroming the pipe is really a good price......

anyway one more question .... what u guys think of putting side box by the side of S4 bike , will affect the speed and balance or not ? if going about touring speed of 150 km/h plus plus , will it start to wobbles a lot ???

My personal view abt putting side box for S4, please....it looks awful..Unless you are riding Phantom 200 or Tourer bikes like ST1100, the side boxes look nice.

 

Just get a big rear box will do.

I went to jb. And my spec2 cannot start. Meter keep turning and clock resetted. But got front light. A friend helps me to push start and now is aright liao. Anyone got any idea what happens? Should i charge or buy a new battery which cost only $45??

hey.. i riding specIII. when i try to brake everytime.. there is a "tak tak tak" vibration and sound when approaching a stop.. which means when i approaching a traffic light.. i press brake.. it will brake smoothly till when almost wan to come to a stop.. i can feel dunno from where.. a tak tak tak vibration............. not smooth lor and it onli happens when very very very slow to a stop. Why like that huh???

 

I jus dunno this tak tak tak vibration or sound comes from the engine? the chain or the brake pad???

I am riding a Spec3 FY plate and I do encounter this problem too.

But the problem stops when I oil my chain.
