Rather exp to me but they take in my S4 at high value as a 10 years bike.

My bird having charging problem. Bike shop have check for me and change rectifier & batt still not work well.

 

The problem is when i ride it at city area for 15 min or more will headlight on and RPM less than 3k. After that i stop and try restart again it fail to start. But when i ride it with RPM more than 4k for 10min and off engine and start again with no problem.

 

What the exact problem? :confused:

Look like the charging is not in good condition when low RPM but for High RPM is great.

batt or rectifier is fried.

 

bird, s4 or pratically all honda have recitfier problem. go check it out.

 

14K for a FS plate is EX. FU is selling 14.5K otr

Looks like it's very expensive, but what to do, all the big bikes here are being cornered to all bike shops and they hike the price like no tomorrow. If we can have more contact or more expose to the bike market, than the motordiam will have to lower the price of the class 2 bike.

As he said, the rectifier and battery already change and the problem still exist, maybe he has to look into the charging system.

Anyway, my bike start charging at RPM higher than 2k

since yr bike still under warranty, better let them solves the problem. send it back and you shoudn't pay for extra charge or parts. no comments on the price, since you bought it liao. Too much if with the amount you pay, you still got all this problem.

 

if yr battery good, it should be able to hold few times of starting without moving. At least 3 times i believe. anyway, you got multimeter? good to have one. just change my bat last week. If yr bike cant start, what you do? call tow co or push start?

 

oh forgot... ask them to check yr stator coil... maybe also fried already. 1 reason cannot charging

If you've changed the battery & rectifier (new) than the next thing to check is the charging coil, another way to check the charging is to use a multimeter, the charging voltage should be anything above 13v

hmmm..

let see... wat other devices have u installed on ur bird?

alarm system?

connect both signal light to be on when u on the headlight?

using aftermarket light bulb?(high powered)

 

i would suggest that u check the connect of the wires to ur batt...

get a multimeter n check the charging of the bike at iding.

rev abit to abt 2-3k rpm.. check the charging...

make sure u on ur headlight..

if the voltage is at 13-14.4v.. its normal...

if ur voltage is more than 14.4v..eg... 14.7v... chances are ur rectifier are frying soon...

 

just pray hard that ur charging coil is working.. cos it might be damaged when ur previous rectifier is spoilt.

hi everyone out there,

first time getting a big 2 as im curr ridin a XR4. im thinkin between BB or ST11. my budget ard 8k or less.coz wanna cheaper model n learn on get old bird den get new bike oso cant afford to flash fire to my pocket nw. my doubt.. carb model and efi model BB, which better for maintain n for transport purpose? i knw if im gettin a BB most like it be a 96 to 98 model(fp-fq)i guess.thinkin of gettin a ST11 instead. which shld i choose cond tat im a newbie. pls advice thks:confused:

take your time to chose your bike. Read from our previous posting in this same thread for the bike pros and cons.

 

then read up in the ST11 section and find out more. Once u decided then give us a ring which side u join the st or the bb. To me no difference. Welcome to CLASS 2 man!

think one BB owner managed to get his FV BB at $14K and lesser on Yahoo Auction.

 

Anyway, bought liao just ride on, no point keep squeezing balls thinking about the $ paid. Most important, you are paying something which you like :thumb:

Have install Scottoiler, alarm system, didn't connect both signal light when on headlight.

 

First time they change the new rectifier but remain the batt.

Second time change the batt but i didn't know that is S4 type, alamak.... :giddy:

Third time they change the batt to so call "good condition" yuasa batt. So i try ride up to woodland custom during peak hour with no problem with the jam. Manage to start the bike but what happend on second day??? The batt again cause my bike can't start.

 

I have monitor when they test the charging system.

They rev till 6k rpm the voltage still never go up to 14v with or without headlight on. Even with 2k - 3k rpm still never go up to 13v.

 

Now i just pray hard that the coil didn't spoil.

 

Will go down again today see what they say.

they should have give u a new batt. Not 2nd hand. Either u get yourself a fried batt or a wrong rectifier or all 2nd hand stuff.

 

i dont think a shop is really that willing to buy a new item to replace.

 

Well i do pray for you it is not the starter coil. Why not bring the bike to another shop to check it out wheater what the problem if the shop u bought it from cant help much.

 

i got a bad feeling eventually it is u have to pay for the faulty part even there is warranty. I am sure the standard ans is Electrical things is like dat one..cannot say and guareetee.:mad:

one suggestion..

get another bird out.. check if ur rectifier u using is the correct one....

if yes... then might be the coil problem...

another thing.. have u take the reading of battery voltage when u park ur bike?take it if u have a multimeter and before u start ur bike the next day take the reading..

if the voltage drop alot.. time to change battery...

in the mean time dun connect ur alarm..

 

readings taken form my bike:

idie( without headlight on ) : 12.4-12.5V

idie( with headlight on ) : 12.1-12.2 *

*will be slightly lower as both my signal lights are on *

rev to 2k-3k : 12.9V-13.8V*

more than 3.5K :14V - 14.4

 

the above readings are from my bike...agar agar one.. round up.. :p

if u r willingly, go back to agent and get them to solve once and for all. rather than to go this mech,say u need to change this n that but after that, it only work for today only. sometime, some $$$ cannot be save.

Which agent u refer? Boon Siew?

 

I use to go back to Boon Siew when i got my S4.

Basically what i want them to let me know any problem on my S4.

 

After they check and say only chain need to change and the rest no problem even i mention is rectify and batt OK or not. So i pay about SGD55 for service charge. You guess what? Just waste my money and the bike can't start few days later. :giddy:

at the handlebar? or i saw 2 guys put beneather the windscreen...on the dashboard....quite ok...

i was thinking of drilling hole on my side panel......den put it in..will luke like a standard fitting..but irreversable move...

Sorry for barging in on a blackbird forum but I own an X11. Wondering if our local Honda agent can make duplicate keys for the HISS system??

X-11 also blackbird what... only without feathers... ha ha. if yrs not boon siew bike, they will charge higher for the key. to coding already 30... 30 plus for the key.. and make the key somewhere else

maybe try looi's or mah motor.thou their mechanics abit stub up.but they are quite reliable lor
