I rode the bike to Sepang to play on the track and back. The trouble is when you ride on the highways at speeds around 110 - 120 KMH, the fuel consumption is not very happening. Was getting like 150 km for about 7 litres.

20 something km per litre may sound good to you but not when you have a small tank.

The other thing is the vibrations. My butt went numb a few times whilst on the NSH.

I guess you could tour with the DRZ if you wanted to... just need a bigger tank and an iron butt. :cheeky:

since we'r at the topic of going cross border on the DRZ SM, can i ask is there any particular brand of sport rims that'll fit nicely on the bike, as in jus swap & go

raptor.. hmm.. i;m just concerned and curious if the DRZ can be used to do a bit of touring.. with other different capacity bikes..

iron but.. i tink i'm getting used to it.. cos i ride to work everyday to TUAS on my KSR .. and also.. ehem.. :shy: my ksr also have crossed borders once before.. but abit only lah.. :cheeky:

and since u mention the mileage.. is that consider high consumption? help me out here.. i'm just doing my research early.

Let me put it this way and you decide for yourself.

I get about 15km/litre on the CBR.

I get about 30pluskm/litre on the DRZ.

So I take it you are seriously considering a DRZ400SM as your next bike??

Good transport bike and can cruise at 90 - 100 kmh easily. Some more fuel consumption is best around this speed.

I actually bought mine to be used as a transport bike and keep the CBR as a track bike.... but then again I can resist anything but temptation and the rest is history.
