Jtzx, very hard to find at $4K now. Most of us should be FS plate and the COE was renewed at $1,500++. So adding to the minimum $3K machine price, its easily $4.5K at cost price, provided the owners wants to let go at a small loss discounting his $$$ spent doing up the Slasher.

Anyway most of us would have fine-tuned, changed spare-parts, modified or re-sprayed, so no way any of us will sell below $5K by now, after renewing 10 yrs COE. Haha

Hi guys

JUst to share.

Bike stalled when riding and batt went dead. There are only 3 things which can most likely cause this - battery, rectifier or coil. So I started from the cheaper to the most costly. In the end it is coil burnt, the most costly. So I end up changing my battery, rectifier and coil which cost me quite a bit as follows:-

a) Battery -Original Yuasa YTZ10S (Made in Japan) = $145

b) Rectifier - Original Honda = $185

c) Coil - Original Honda = $285

And I got them myself and fixed battery and rectifier. But then paid labour to fix the coil as that is beyond me.

But no regrets, as I have renewed the COE last Dec 2010.

Then I re-wrap the seat at Eugene Saddlery, including backrest cushion. Chose the original factory leather look. Neat.

I then removed the backrest for a more sporty look, although mine is stock paintwork. REmoved the screws at the sides which was meant for the tying budgee cords. Got stainless bolts and cap nuts to make it neater.

The wind behind when riding now feels different w/o the backrest, better actually.

But the backrest would come useful when going roadtrips.

Changed the front tyre too. Bridgestone (Made in Japan) at LAB for $95. I wanted Dunlop actually, but its made in Indonesia and $100 plus. LAB also say Dunlop not worth it now.

Now looking for a small round saddle bag to put on the front fork or left side next to seat. ANyone can intro?

Old sure have prob la. Might be the carb mine just started over flowing haha. But small bike like tat la alot of small probs. Is there any petrol smell? But other than a few probs this bike is actually nicer to ride than s4 and gxr4 which i had before minus the top end..

Beating a Honda is like banging a fat chick. Everyone can do it but who wants to brag about it....

WELCOME TO THE DARKSIDE!!!

problem solved at LAB, the charging unit is dying, I had to push start when it refuse to start... 1 person push... damm shack. when reach LAB, big boss say 175 for the unit... faint... donno is it cheap or ex but i know its damm pain... Hear from frn their pricing not too ex de la. Anyway, problem solved. no more coughing. they refer the sound as TA PAO, shoot cannon. Also got my rear brake calipers changed cos not responsive, costed me another 55... OUCH! but i leave a happy rider. Straight away no more TA PAO sound and the fuel to transmission improved alot. =D
