ATLANTIC ZERO EMISSION, THE GAS SCOOTER

In collaboration with MES-DEA, presented today on the occasion of Hannover 2004 the latest solution on fuel cell powered scooters. It’s Atlantic Zero Emission, prototype vehicle powered by a high performing electric engine and equipped with a new 6kW fuelled by hydrogen system, without heavy additional ancillary equipment such as air compressors, humidifiers and coolers.

Absolutely silent, capable of covering over 150 km of urban cycle, Atlantic Zero Emission presents itself as an ambitious project, which foresees important developments finalised to a more environment sensitive urban mobility; an interesting Aprilia’s technological investment towards the fuel cell system development, which will result very competitive not only when compared with other electric powered vehicles – thanks to higher range and faster rechar-geability– but also when compared with scooter powered by thermal engine, particularly where envi-ronmental subject could be decisive in defining mobi-lity system.

SCARABEO 250: EVOLUTION OF A LEGEND

The evolution of species never stops. And for the legendary Scarabeo, here we have the new motorization 250cc, with a renewed design and many technical up dates. More fun to ride, safer in the traffic and more comfortable for the passenger, proves once again its qualities of great handiness, safety and striking and elegant design typical of the Scarabeo.

The news concerns all the vehicle, from the engine to the frame, the braking set up and the chassis, in order to testify a deep project intervention.

„X New 250, 21cv engine. Performant, resilient, for a fluid ride style.

„X New frame in order to increase the riding precision

„X Combined brake, that shares the braking force between the front and the rear braking, both disk brakes.

„X Renewed design and more refined with new, lighter mudguards, new front bonnet and white light direction signalers.

„X Two helmets rear bonnet for the Scrabeo 500 current series with higher and stuffed back rest, top quality in his market category.

Important evolutions, that leads the Scarabeo 250 in to an optimum balance in an urban and extra-urban employ. The classical 16¡¦ high wheels with increased section, the light weight and the low saddle together with the new braking system makes of the Scarabeo an excellent mean for urban use. The precise chassis, a higher comfort guaranteed by the adjustable saddle, the new back rest and by the riding position called ¡§alla scarabeo¡¨ together with the chance of maintaining a high cruise speed on motorways and freeways enable to travel comfortably with a passenger and with luggage.

To underline his double vocation, scarabeo 250 comes out in two versions, both for the same price, 3.990,0 euro :the basic version, with high windscreen included, for those who wish to use it in the city and the GT version, with half fairing, for those who are more willing to use it for longer week-end journeys.

This new Scarabeo is available also in the 125cc for those whishing to ride a two wheels with the B driving license alone. Available at 3.560,00 euro.

The Scarabeo 250 is completed by many new accessories such as 25liters side cases, the Aprilia MOB radio system that is also a driver/passenger interphone and telephone answerer.

Hi

Atlantic_200, when you come, please claim your warranty booklet. It will explain your queries. As for those who just found out about your warranty, does it make a difference whether you knew it earlier or not? Warranty is basically a protection for consumers against manufacturers defects. Should any of you encounter such problems, please bring it up to us and we will rectify it. If you have been using it the past year without any major problems, it means that the bike is good and well, which is good. It is hard to explain what is warranty. It is solely at the discretion of Aprilia, not us. In fact, servicing your bike at a workshop that is not an Aprilia authorised workshop will void your warranty. However, we try to be flexible on that.

For those who want to, please visit our workshop office, and we will give you the warranty booklet.

hi,I am a newbie here, hope that you guys don't mind if I were to pass a comment.

Mr Mah,by saying what you have said clearly indicates that there is no sincerity on your part,as a dealer/seller you are solely responsible to duly informed your customers of what they are gettong themselves into, personally to me it seems that its not fair to your buyers.Cos to begin with they do not know of any warranty, and if they were to go to another shop, like you have said their warranty will be void. What if they were to do servicing,eg,changing of oil and belt at other work shop, does it means that their warranty will be void? Just thinking out loud,in all fairness maybe you should extend the warranty period of those who have bought the bike from you,and since you said it personally that the bike is good and well for the past year,so that is to say that it should not be a problem for you or Aprilia to extend the warranty,as whatI have read and heard,it's basically due to miscommunication on your part and not your customers as they are not duly informed, therefore they should not be penalized for someone elses mistakes. This is just my personal opinon, hope you guys dont find me rude...

Hi

Sorry I made a mistake. Warranty for Aprilia bikes is 1 year for bikes/scooters below 400cc and 2 years for bikes/scooters above 400cc. Apologise, it is a geniune mistake.

hi mah,

I dun think it's fair for us when u tell us that aprilias have 2 yrs warranty before buying it and after purchasing it then tell us that it's a 1 yr warranty... I came down serveral times... The last visit is on 27th march... Yes i agree with u... But wat abt nothing has been done for the past three months... My instrument, signal lights, my glove compartment.... So how long do i have to wait for the parts to come?? i discovered that most of my bike parts have been siliconed which were done by ur workers... So does that mean that u are going to change me a new bike?? I dun request much from u... I think that particpation must be fast in response... I am not arguing anything with u.... Ziggy maybe right.. It's ur employee's fault that they didn't tell ziggy abt the warranty... And to me i dun think that ur Mechanics are worth 35 per/hr rated same with to the others thinks... I can easlily change my brake pads on my own without any special tools required..

Thru my own eyes i saw something bad that ur mechanics have done to my bike.. i won't state it out.. To me ur mechs dun look like pros and they have a stucked up attitudes.... Mr Mah hope that u'll do something abt ur company's management.... And as for the warranty, why do they call warranty when they do not send any spare parts to u?? And for us customers / consumers, do u think it's fair for us to wait and wait till warranty ends and nothing has been changed?? Alantic may be a small cc bike but i dun think that it's cheap... It's not cheap compare to other bikes in the market and i bought the bike becoz u and ur staffs claims that there is a 2 yrs warranty. I didn't hasitate to buy the bike becoz i think it's a reasonable price for a machine + a 2yrs warranty... Understandable that warranty dun cover wear and tear parts... But now it doesn't even seemed to be like a warranty and so call as a fraud to me.... Dun blame ziggy as u r both middle aged men.. i'm juz here to share my problems with the others in this forum that i have encountered.. And i believe that u would also like to share ur problems that u have encountered or maybe experiences at work... A forum is always a forum... it's designed for ppl to discuss matters and share the epidimic problems we are facing...

I dun mean to offend u.... but if i did, pls excuse my language and rephrase it to a polite one...

Well I do agree with you,but on the other hand as you know ,like what Aprilia have said, this is a public forum,YOu get this sort of things, here or in any other bikes forum. It may seems like I am the one that started it all.I do not want to add anything more to this debate, all i want to say is that, thats how the way it is ,we all just have to live with it.I would suggest that those riders who have issues about their Aprilia,to seek their redress with Mah Pte ltd and solved it ASAP,before their Warranty expired.I would hope that I will able to get some answers, from them and keep you guys updated.

WE are not here to Flame anybody or any shop, what this thread all about is to share,so that we will be able to learn from each other about the Aprillia-Atlantic,and of cos ,if we were to get feedbacks from Mah Pte Ltd,itself, that will be even better. We may have spoken in a harsh tone, but It's only human nature, especially so when you are behind a screen. And it's human nature that everybody who bought something wants to get a better deal, and not wanting to feel cheated after buying it.( I am not saying that I am being Cheated)It all boils down to communications or in this matter miscommunication.Whose fault? well I will leave it at that,no point in pointing finger, but to solve the problem at hand and make the best out of the situation.

I seriously hope that ,Mah Pte ltd will be able to give us all the answers that we are all waiting.Since he have mentioned that it will be schedule somewhere in May,lets just put it down as that,But in the meantime, pls you guys go and have your Babes fixed or rectify any problems you may have.

well not that i gain anything out from Mah or work for him for the matter, but i would say that posting anything in public (which a forum is) that is damaging to a person/company is liable to be sued, which i think is not the right thing to do. (e.g. a person slandering another person, or a person flaming a shop)

if i'm not wrong that was what happen to *ideo *ro in the Hardwarezone forum couple of years back.

best is to get things solved and post the query and the resolution and not the process of fighting it out, as it may lead to misconceptions and leave more pple confused and angry.

Nobody says that you gain anything or stands to gain anything,no worries about that. I understand your concerned, about passing slanderous remarks, belive me,There is nothing slanderous, but questions ,like I have said,it may have been written in a harsh tones, and thats it,WE are not here to make any slanderous remarks against anybody.Belive me what ever is written in here can hold up in court.

I too have nothing to gain from it all.The only thing that I stand to gain is a better understanding of what I am getting myself into, and that by the way is on everybody's mind irregardless of what makes and models of bikes you ride...

Human being are such that we always want to get the best deal, the cheapest price....the list goes on...thats the way it is....

 heh how come the scooter pple wanna know my bike?

mm..me riding a tuono125.

anyways, ok i'll say a good comment on my side. Went down to Mah today to pay up my installments, tightened up my chain for me for free by mech. And the aprilia 'ang moh' guy saw my chain was tightened too tight, and told the mech to redo it. This i believe is quite a good jesture.

I had lost a screw once too, and they replaced it for me without me needing to ask.

Although they are small instances which don't really require much cost, but i think their intentions are pretty good.

so yeps. there's my 2 cts and why i think they are not as bad as u guys think.

Its good that you have such a good experience, first of all I think that you are getting the wrong idea that we are totally condemning the bike shop,Thats not True..I would like to say that everybody perceptions are different and so everybody has a different view ,to it,even if its the same situation. We are here to comments and pass any knowledge that we know,so that we are able to share and have a better understandings. As a service provider, they have to accept people comment and take the comments constructively,in order to br able to improved and better their service to their customers.Times have changed and people are getting more and more demanding.

Lots of people here dont see it that way.I was from the Service industries too,I cant jump at every customers that pass a comment at me,cos if I do,it will only show my weakness and my pool of customers will strink. We have to constantly be on our toes and upgrade ,to proveide the best that we can to our customers.

We are not the best, when we say that we are.Its only when the other people say that we are ,then and only then, will we be the Best.

cheers and ride safely
