You are like me 1 mth ago when I got my bike. Dun worry, no problem, thats what my friend told me.

 

Next time, look ahead for traffic lights, when its green from a great distant, prepare to slow down, becoz by the time you reach there, most likely it will turn amber or red...

some RLC are not pointing at you thats maybe the reason you did not see any flash. so maybe your on the save side already i assume.

 

the next time if u pillion someone dont ever try e-brake at the junction due to RLC, points and summon will be much better then loosing your love one.

 

and pls slow down when you approach a traffic light junction, you can never know that the lights will change with a blink of a eye.

i tink wont kenna.... u see the road. b4 the stop line ther are many "black boxes" wif fine linings. those are the sensors. its if u past the boxes wen red then will snap. so like u say wen red half ur bike past line shouldnt be no prob. neway rider got 12 points. 0 point still cn ride. USUALLY N MOSTLY43 beat red light is a serious offence for p platers, so they will try to find jus another 1 point to revoke ur liscence. careless driving, maybe. anything la, as long as revoke.

if tio, u cn sure say goodbye to ur liscence. jus pass 1 mth aredi beat red lite? true, u got 0 points left. but like i said, they will sure look for the additional 1 point to revoke ur liscence. same like speeding above 40 kph, oso 12 points but all those sure go court tio revoke, good luck. neway nothing la..... releks. no flash wun kena. flash is to make the place brighter so cn take clear pic. like u said ther dark, n no flash if take oso wont be clear mah... releks la

If you kana camera it will be like GOD TAKING YOUR PHOTO! cos its really FREAKING bright even if its in the day and there is 2 flash which takes 2 pictures.

 

Im not worried of you kana fine but im more worried of you chionging and doing ebrake.

 

You as a newbie have to be very cautious of your surrounding. That is where you learn as a safety rider.

 

Imagine you chiong...

1) wat if there are cars who are so freaking kan chiong to turn right and usually they see amber they already turn and you not in time to brake.

2) wat if you chiong and car infront of you ebrake to not beat the RLC.

3) wat if you squeeze and chiong but traffic infront of you is damn pack?

 

Imagine if you dunno your surrounding and ebrake.

1) wat if the car behind you also want to chiong and you suddenly ebrake which he is unable to stop?

2) wat if you dun even knw that there is cars behind you when you ebrake?

3) wat if you ebrake and skid?

 

Ride defensive bro. when you reach a junction OPEN UP your EYES.

1) Look out for the cars intention that are turning right.

2) relac your throttle when reaching a junction.

3) once you are at the 2nd arrow front the stop line if its still green you are always safe from the RLC unless you traveling 15km/hr.

4) be very aware of the traffic infront of you if its too pack be more patient.

 

Please dun take this as a repremand or wat. Im also learning and im also very weak in pilion ppl. But riding defensively gets you further. MUST really be observant and knw wats happening in your surrounding. That is why MIRRORS are SO DAMN important.

 

I hope you dun mind me telling you all these but if it helps safe 1 fall from anyone in the SBF im so glad.

Riding lesson instructor never teach u with added load ur braking distance is increased ? or u never listen ?

But please be more attentive esp since u got gf pillion with u.

aiyo just pass you forgot the points system already ah.. do be extra careful when you pillon some1.. your brakes distance will be slightly further. remember to slow down when approaching traffic light. this is very very VERY important. slower when you pillon someone and even slower if road is wet.

Ya la but newbie usually MORE blurr. And some can talk to pilion... pengz.... But its true once you start your bike engine you have to be 101% alert. Once you sit on your bike you have to be 102%. Any road or distance. Carparks are the worst place and alot of accidents. Cos alot just tot that nothing can happen in a short distance but its not true.

yea. i know. everyone will also fall down once ma,most imp is to learn what i did wrong. but then i wasn't really purposely want to beat that red light that time. i don't how to say, is like i ai mai ai mai like that then at last know cannot brake in time liao. i also new not really judge well. but then i learn my lesson already. now on everytime i reach cross junction i ease my throttle. i see traffic light i also scare liao.

 

now just hope that the rlc didn't snap at me. now already 1week le.

when u gg straight to cross junction, look at the green or red man where pedestrian cross one. if it's red means be prepare to slow down cos gg to go amber soon, if it's green means it's safe to carry on maintain throttle but be alert.

Aiyo you sound like feeling sad or feeling bad abt the thing or am i too harsh on my post. Dun worry la you never see GOD take picture kinna FLASH you are ok la. Dun be afraid of the traffic light relax abit and enjoy your ride. Just that it takes time to get used to road condition and also road user. Not scolding you or wat. But trying to cautious you on the road as nowadays drivers are like SH!T. We riders here are frenly bunch of ppl. You can get alot of tips from the SBF.

 

I admire ppl who ride safe but i dun admire ppl who ride fast. Safe rider makes you ride FURTHER....

 

Yea all of us do fall and that is why we want to protect you. We dun want you to go thru the hard way. As for me im damn fortunate to have a rider brother who tot me alot of things. But im never a better rider than he is. But im contented to have my own CHEAP transport

"Ai Mai Ai Mai" ... Being indecisive is a killer on the roads, especially if other road users see you repeatedly deciding to brake, then not to. It will be harder for them to judge your action and avert a collision.

 

There's a lot of useful pointers in the posts above mine, but this is important - ensure your brakes are well maintained. If the brake pads are used up, the brake lines are soft or there's grime on the brake disc ... Accident is waiting to happen.

 

When you approach a junction with RLC, prepare to slow down and check the pedestrian crossing to see if it's a Green or Red Man. Expect any traffic in front of you to jam brakes, and expect a speeding vehicle behind you to cause a smash-up - IF you do not slow down and force him/her/it to stop. And as a previous forumer had posted - if you are at the second arrow before the traffic junction and you are not travelling too slow, you can cross it safely.

 

For RLC there's a short delay between the light turning red and the camera becoming active, but don't ever gamble with the time-out. You are gambling with 12 points and any vehicle that is preparing to launch off from the adjacent side when the traffic light turns green.

 

And two final points - from afar if you see a junction with the 2 RLC poles, start to check the traffic behind you. No mirrors or KR mirrors? Turn back and check but ensure the pillion's head is not in the way. Also NEVER change lane abruptly just before a traffic junction - there is a high chance you will cause an accident and you could be charged for careless/dangerous driving = license tong.
