Reviving this old thread....

Owned a Suzuki An125hk for a while now....this is really a underrated scooter and will give my humble 2 cents. Less the subjective parts (eg outlook), this is definitely a long term keeper.

Compared to a few other scooters I have owned, this is tops in a few areas.

- Fuel Consumption: Next to the Honda PCX, this is probably the best scooter getting an average of 40km/l for me. If wife is riding, it will probably be about 43-45km/l.

- Low maintenance: Runs on Octane 91 at a minimum (usually put in 95 for best mileage), 3k km oil change with oil filter at 6k km, single spark plug, Belt recommended change at 24k Km. (This is the best part. :slurp:), has both electric and kick start (No worries about unable to push start a scoot), only 750ml engine oil change requirement, 3.5 -10 inch front and back wheels (Mech advise can rotate them to extend tyre life but anyway, does not cost too much new - $45 for each Michelin S1/S83 Tyre, even cheaper if you get Shinko SR560 - $34, fitting extra)

- Easy Maintenance: Parts readily available locally at Suzuki dealer (Rangoon road) and online (see ebay or japan.webike.net), Easy self access to engine oil, filter, air filter, spark plug, all electrical lights if you wish to DIY.

- User Friendly: True scoot with large large flat floor board (can put a large carton of drink), large comfortable seat and under seat storage (with light), easy to read dashboard, low saddle height (wife loves this part), in build hook (for the occasional ta bao), in built rear rack, relatively light weight (110kg), very easy to maneuver and easy to squeeze during heavy traffic.

- Reliability: No issue at all (mine is almost 1.5 years old), starts first time every time, built quality - in my opinion, is on par with other scoots we had (mp3, runner, sportcity). Maybe time will tell but so far - nothing extra needed.

- "Rideability": Honestly, I take any scoot anytime over other types of 2/3 wheelers as it is so easy to ride. Thus, my poor Shadow is only warmed up and ridden round the estate once a week. Highway cruising at 100km/hr is no issue for me. Off the line, half throttle will usually put myself ahead of the traffic. Good braking for a scooter in my opinion.

Lastly, I managed to get a hold of the complete Parts Manual (same paper one at the Suzuki Parts place at Rangoon road) as well as Shop Service Manual. Any fellow AN125 owners wish to get a copy may PM me. Too large to upload so likely have to burn a CD.

Have a fabulous rest of the weekend!

in my search for a scooter, this bike have popped up a few times but most of the time looking very old. Thanks for your review! I like the floor board space.

No problems....underrated Point A - B scooter (ie. no frills). The other point A - B scoot you can consider is the Yamaha Cygnus Z. Looks very much like the AN125HK though not sure about the fuel consumption. But if the post man uses it, must not be too bad!

Check out the well taken AN125 pictures online "https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.685180154828688.1073741829.683919444954759&type=3"

The models you saw are probably the older ones. Mine was manufactured in 2012.

If not for the ridiculous coe price, I would suggest going for brand new.

Based on a more sane coe price at 1.5k, brand new an125hk otr is less than $6k.

Mine is exactly the same colour and make as the link. Even the box is the same. Lol.

Flat floor board is very good. But front design can do with some updates.

No wonder what I viewed seem different.

I was looking at scooters when the coe went up. Just before it, a peugeot vivacity 125 cost under 5 k new but no reviews on it.

Yup, puts a smile on my face every time I hull a case of drinks back home.

I just saw a Cygnus Z at my MSCP and doubt it can hull a case of can drinks on the floor board. Packet drinks should be fine though.

Peugeot Vivacity would not cost under 5k. I was at the Peugeot showroom during the soft launch. M1 motoring sales folks were also there. I recall it more towards 7k plus. 5k likely machine price only.

Vivacity is one good looking scoot and the engine is the same as my old Aprilla sportscity (LEADER 125 Engine). The power band is tuned more towards high end and not the pick up. Very good top range and can reach 120km/hr.

dunno leh, it was advertised as under 5000 about 1 month ago, about 4888 or something without insurance, coe is in, but now it is probably higher due to the coe increase. was a promotion on newspapers and I actually went to the shop at kakibukit. What made me hesitate was the top speed of 81km/hr that is listed on the brochure and that they do not have a compatible rack to mount a rear box.

currently i need to open a carton to place drinks into the side boxes on a motorbike, I miss the scooter hook in front that can hang the tabao food.

The hook on the AN125HK is in the rear of feet area and not the front. In front, there is a good size glove compartment where you can put your wallet/cellphone/parking coupons/office pass etc. Big enough for a Samsung Note 3.

Actually, the hook at the rear of the feet area is more practical as the hot items/drinks will not get in the way when steering.
