oh yea, just wana ask a few question. i bought my bike 2nd hand and the key that was issued to me from the shop was a duplicate. i asked if they had the original one with the ignition lock, they told me they dont have. a few days ago i parked my bike at the MSC overnight and when i wanted to go to work in the morning, i found out someone had locked my ignition hole. i had to call toygraff up for help and thank god he had the key. my question is where can i get that ignition key lock. riding an x1r without that is.. well, troublesome.

1st mechanic straight away assumed clutch plates, second mechanic after testing bike, suspect clutch cable and he adjusted freeplay; tested again and found that it was ok. however after i rode, same problem persists. 3rd mechanic tested bike and suspect gearbox and told me need to overhaul and says its gonna be costly $$$. i'm not sure which theory's right and inted to get a 4th opinion from another mechanic. its way too dangerous to be riding with such symptoms.

Try these. No guarantee that it would work. Adjust your biting point. It could be a tad too far. Try not to clutch in fully when changing to second gear. Kick slightly harder to engage in second gear. Mind sharing with us the shops these mechanics works at?

i'd rather not mention the workshops here but if you're interested i could PM you :) anyway just went to another workshop just now and was told that problem lies in gearbox and charges $150 for labour. Is the price reasonable?

When At Neutral Gear, Hard To Kick Down To Gear One Right? Instead Of Clutching Fully, Release Clutch A Little And Kick Down At The Same Time. This Shud Really Work.

If Release Abit Still Cannot Then Pump The Clutch Abit And Again, Kick Down At The Same Time.

bro, actually it's the opposite....problem is kicking up from gear 1 to gear 2. always stuck at neutral. same method applies???

Ooooo. Haha. Well Instead Of Clutching Fully, Try Clutching In 3/4. Go Try Now. Go Go Go. Hehe.

Or Maybe When Changing To 2nd Gear, Your Speed Not High Enough. Got Lotsa Possibilities. I Experienced That On My Prev Bike.

You Disappeared For More Than 30min And I Thought You Really Went To Try. Hahaha.

Well Im Not So Sure If Youre Clutch Plates Are Really Worn Out Or Not. Just By Reading Thru Here, Quite Hard To Judge Or Assume Anything.

High Chance Its Just The Biting Point That Need To Be Adjusted. You Try Put Your Bike On Mainstand, Clutch In Fully & Kick Down To Gear One. Do Not Release Your Clutch And See Is Your Rear Wheel Spinning Or Not.

If never release clutch then the rear wheel turning means what? Mine's like that eh..

Yupz it can be fixed... His was for renthal bars actually... It has 2 sizes if I was not mistaken... UM ada, go there and try fix... 75 if I was not mistaken...

Went to um.. Just learnt that ours can only fit those meant for Honda usage.. Well, niway.. They dun have stock till two weeks time..

Problems arise from advancement of technology - it causes unnecessary misunderstanding among us humans.

Is this on mainstand? If so can stop the wheel by hand? Sometimes when chain is too tight the wheel might turn after you kickstart. But if you never release clutch and the wheel can turn with enough force to move your bike then its what eddictive have said.

Like What Eddictive Said, Its Either The Biting Point Need To Be Adjusted Or Clutch Plates Worn Out Already.

Its Like Imagine You Stop At Red Light In 1st Gear & You Fully Clutch In. Your Rear Wheel Is Actually Trying To Spin But Cannot. So That Causes The Clutchplates To Wear Out Faster.

Went to um.. Just learnt that ours can only fit those meant for Honda usage.. Well, niway.. They dun have stock till two weeks time..

No Need To Get Those Expensive Ones Lahh. Got Mine At A Very Cheap Price & The Weight Is The Same. :)
