Last time I forgot to shift it back. while riding halfway my bike started behaving weirdly and I started panicking because I thought bike got problem liao :lol:
That reminded me of an incident when someone 'sabo' my friend and on his choke. Thankfully I was riding with him when he experienced that so told him about it. :cool:

I believe I did not ever had problems starting as I always change my spark plug/EO/oil filter every 1500km w/o fail and also tuned my carb regularly. Even on cold mornings, i just need to give it one good kick to start it.

 

So what Type of EO? Full or Semi sync?iruidium or normal spark plug? Oil filter eveytime change? Or every 2 cycle? For carb tunning, regularly as in 3 month tune once or? Do enlighten me.. Haha

Fully synthetic (10w40) & normal NGK plug. Dont have to use iridium. Oil filter by right every 2 cycle like what you said. But I always do at JB and it only cost less than SGD $4 to change. So yeah I dun mind wasting just a few dollars by changing everytime.

 

For carb tuning, i monitor my idling speed thru my Koso meter. The moment it starts to drop, ill get it tuned back.

 

I took out my air filter on the first week i got my bike and did not use any thru out the 2-3 yrs.

my 2nd hand x1r also got the cold morning kick start problem, especially if left unused over weekends. Monday is the worst. Must kick 4-5 times at least.

Now i change method, roll down the slope of the multi storey carpark, 1st gear throw clutch and it will start immediately.

 

btw lim, where can i find the idling knob, me intend to try to lower it, hope to improve the FC. Currently best achieved the 44km/L on 95 spc, fully stock parts, 2.5 year old bike.

 

unscrew fairing to peep inside but cannot find the knob that can be turn by fingers

If you're on stock carburator, there is no knob. Just screws. Best to leave it to mechs to tune it for you because if you set your air & fuel ratio wrongly, it can cause piston seizure.

 

And by push-starting your bike often, its nt a good thing as you will cause wear & tear to your clutch housing faster, resulting to another problem.

The EO that does not burn a hole in your pockets. :cool:

Who told you it can be turned by fingers? By any chance you are Inspector Gadget? :cool:

yah great bike, on 7th gear can hit 200km but maintenance very high, always must wash valve, irregardless whether got open valve daily anot

 

u still haven tell me ur FC how much leh, me now only wanna save petrol, no more hanky panky liao

me that time buy the bike, but 1st owner lost the manual book, so i got nothing to refer to

With power comes great responsibility. From what I could recall. Pumped about 3.4 litres after covering 200km. Go figure. :cool:
