hello, mind me asking if anyone of you guys tried fitting a spark carb onto an x1?

x1 stock carb is vm 17 and spark is vm 22.

is there a significant improvement in performance and how bad does it hurt the fc?

thanks alot!

hi everyone

i'm looking to buy a second hand yamaha x1 and have some questions.

are there any scheduled major maintainence needed for this bike?

its about 5 years old and i understand that the owner has not changed anything at all, just regular oil change.

is there anything that i should check for when viewing the bike?

thanks!

(i tried to look for related information but could not find, so the questions have been asked b4 i apologise and would appreciate someone pointing out the related thread for me)

seriously i pity you because the others choose to talk among themselves.

ok firstly the bike, its a low maintenance bike but doesnt mean its maintenance free. you have to do the the checks such as your chain, fork, clutch cable and all those minor things, which can turn into major if you never do regular servicing.

for my myself, i change the EO at every 1500km. actually this is up to own preference. some do it at 1000km. and i change my spark plug on alternate to the EO.

as for the rest, i'd say its more about 'instinct' rather then schedule maintenance. at times you just feel like theres a need to change the chain, oil the fork, change the bearing and etc. i hope this clear some of your doubts.

Hi guys, I just took over a X1(FZ plate) last week and I find it got no power at all... The bike max speed is only 75km-80km/hr thus I went mechanic to check, the mechanic only change my EO and clutch plate but everything remains the same as he claim that engine is still in good condition.. After visiting the bike shop, the bike is still ****ing slow.. Even lorries overtake me on highway..

Any seniors here know what's wrong with my bike? Anything I can change to make it go a bit faster? I buay tahan lorries and van cutting my lane while i can only go at 80km/hr when I throttle till the max... :(

I need advise.. Thanks!!
