Hello fellow CG bros. Long time not active here.. Anyways, yesterday tried to change engine oil. Use spanner size 17, keep slipping. Today try again using socket spanner, size 17(the size 16 too small cannot fit). KEEP SLIPPING! Idk the thing too tight or what. just to double confirm this stupid question. It is turn anti-clockwise to open right?

Now the problem is the drain nut botak already. From hexagon shape nut become circle, no more grip leh. Where can I get spare? United have? And how to open now??? I haven't change engine oil 2 months already..

Hi! Sorry to hear about the problem. I hate it when my bolts slip.

If you face the bolt, anti-clockwise is to loosen, clockwise is to tighten. As the drain bolt is underneath the engine, imagine u are lying on the ground and facing upwards and turning anti-clockwise to unscrew.

I guess there are a couple of options to solve the problem.

1) First buy a new drain bolt and the washer. Then get a good vice grip spanner and try to loosen the bolt on your bike. Vice grip spanners will tend to destroy the head, but the bolt has already rounded off and you will not be using it again.

If you can't get it off with the vice grip, u and then try using a chisel and hammer to try and turn it. Be careful.

2) Second choice is to just ride to your mechanic, tell him the problem and get him to open the bolt and change the oil for us.

Tell us how it went. Cheers.
