The manual only mentioned half throttle. I ride around 80+km. Try not go beyond 5krpm. Can anyone advise as well??

Hi guys

Do you need to run in this bike?

If so, at what rpm?

And for how long?

Tks

Current odo 36km .... Today touched 90km/h ... Rpm I reached abt 5500 or 6000 ....believe my throttle is less than half ba

Manual says some stress is good for the mating of parts etc .... Variations in rpm is gd too

Hubert did say "just ride, engines need to be pushed" in other words just whack, hahaha

I believe with todays tech on engines there is no more need for run-in.

anyway to play safe, Ill keep it below 5k rpm for the time being.

also the other guy at the shop said to run-in, so the choice is yours.

Try to varies at different rpm. Try to ride in small roads instead of highway where you have constant rpm which is no good for the bike.

Just realised my 12v outlet not working. Anyone having this problem?

Fuse blown. 0.7amp fuse i think. (Small fuse ~15mm)

http://www.co-star.co.uk/images/medium/FGFUSE(1).jpg

Just need to renew the fuse.

Have to go to shop to remove the whole front fairing to reach the fuse on the left hand side.

You can ask shop to make the wire longer so next time easy to replace from below without removing the headlamp fairing.

That is if you can't DIY.

If you want to get your hands dirty, try this video.

Don't have to remove the floor panel though.

For those still comparing between Kymco and Sym... Here's a figure for your reference. This was found in a Taiwanese magazine in Feb 2013 issue.

Cheers

9 seconds is not very fast. But I felt fast. Thought of installing blue lights on the side of the bike.

Hi All!!

My kymco 200i will be ready in 2 days time :cheeky: i heard from people that it will be best to change the tyre first, is that right? If so may i know what tyre to change to and where?

Another question will be i saw the picture of the Kymco bike tyre with something like a red line around the rim area, where can i do that? It looks sooooo nice haha.

Sorry for the noob questions posted.

Hi Zames, congrats on your new ride.

Don't be shy, just ask all the noob question.

IMO, Maxxis i find ok. Good on dry. Wet so far ok as i don't fast corner.

Others find Maxxis very slippery on wet roads.

If you wanna change, change to Metzeler FeelFree. So far so good.

Heidenau tires from user feedback have very good grip too.

Hey Zames, the rim sticker/rim tape services you are looking for.

Quote from Maxsym thread

Yes, the Thai guy doing my rim tape at JuzzWheels was quite meticulous, compared to the guy at 219 doing my suspension cover, who didn't put on fasteners and had to be reminded by the boss.

Hi guys, im new to the forum.. Just got my class 2B recently..

Anyway Im thinking of getting a downtown 200i.. Tried to call motorsport's hotline but no one picked up.. So im wondering roughly how much will the OTR be? For a 29yo guy who just got his 2b..

And has the showroom at Tai Seng closed down? Cos i went there in the morning today and the "shop" is closed and the Brand board on top of the shop seems to be blacked out...

Oh, I would also like to ask is it hard to squeeze through the traffic since DT is pretty big..

Do you guys recommend DT200i as a first bike? Or should I go for a 2nd hand/smaller cheaper scooter.. Then after class 2A then get DT 300..

Cos I read that Kymco is hard to sell off (no offence), and im just not sure if DT200i is sufficient for SG traffic and I'd also like to ride it to msia or thailand..

Thanks alot!

Tks for the helpful info Parotae:) not good with my hands so went down to Motorsport to get it fixed for $10.

You're most welcome. Hope you got the wire lengthen so next time can DIY changing the fuse. Fuse about 10cents -20cents from sim lim tower.

Go to the UBI one

Oh, I would also like to ask is it hard to squeeze through the traffic since DT is pretty big.

No, not hard to squeeze as handle bar is short. Technique. The only bike i can't beat squeezing is kup chai.

Yes, it's a good first bike, big, stable, road presence, big storage, comfort...

Just buy a 2nd hand one, so much cheaper and better resale (2B category) as compare to 300cc. Basically 200 identical to 300 except the cc and 10km/h slower on top speed.

Cos I read that Kymco is hard to sell off (no offence), and im just not sure if DT200i is sufficient for SG traffic and I'd also like to ride it to msia or thailand.

2A 300cc maybe. 2A 400cc is a different story.

City, power should be ok, as 300cc more than enough. Malaysia and thailand also no problem on 200cc cause sharing the same engine. If relaibilty is your question then yes no problem. If speed and overtaking is your concern then of course will struggle.

Thanks alot!
