I was regretful in the beginning cause it didn't perform the way i expected.

 

After going thru 1 and a half years, the problems even out and now i am enjoying it even more.

Finally i can post. yesterday duno why cant make any post. Regret in the sense that like the last few page of this thread talking about the resale value and the reliability not very good. Parotae what type of problem u been thru? and how it being solve?

Is the IU tap to battery direct ? Anyone done rewire to ignition? ... I read tt e slim IU sucks batt a lot .... Cos seldom ride ... Anyone knows where to do re wiring of IU to ignition ?

Yes IU tap durect to the battery. My battery got sucked dry and thus cannot start, got to remove and recharge. Still havent got time to go back to re wire to ignition.

Bro, Kymco is the top selling scooter in Taiwan, don't worry about the reliability... I am sure MS can do something for you should you encounter any problems.

 

So far all the bros here has no issues regarding reliability. Enjoy your ride.. =)

Ya it happens, especially during peak hours where everyone comes online or the system will hang form time to time. Just come back in half an hour or an hours time.

 

Last few pages? Maybe you can be more specific.

 

Resale? Yes it's low and so does any 2nd hand bike. Depends on the demand. Someone sold his 1 year old Downtown 300 for $8500 so i heard. I was quoted $4K for almost 2 years DT ha ha ha. I mind as well keep.

 

Reliabilty? Which part? So far i use 300 damn reliable. Open throttle fully for very long time and engine until now still swee swee. Cornering very stable, of course on smooth road lah, can corner until both side rub the plastic fairing and exhaust cover too and Mr Herbert say i rub a high kerb ha ha ya right and he says DT lower faring can never touch road while cornering. My suspension is set to the 2nd highest so yes it pretty high and not soft. Softer or lower setting will make the scoot lower and thus easier to scrape the lower fairing while cornering.

 

Problems i've been thru?

-High fuel consumption (25KM/l) Now i am getting 29km/L-30km/L. If engine spoil how to get better fuel consumption right? It should be worst.

So it means engine still swee swee. Not that i whack it but i have no choice because need to keep up with group.

-Rpm drop @ 40km/h. Actually it's not a problem as i find out. It's just how the variator works. @35km/h the rpm drop by 500rpm and compensate back to a lower gear. All the jargon, hard to explain ha ha.

As the belt wears the effect is less noticeable and after belt change it's back but i find it like a secondary gear ha ha. Top speed is back and fuel consumption should be even better because of lower cruising rpm.

 

So far so good, nearing 2 years liao. See which thing give way first then i'll post.

I am waiting for the rear suspension to leak. Don't know why, just a feeling ha ha.

So far change rear brake pads 2X

Belt, roller, u-shoe.

Spark plugs.

 

Steering cone already have signs of wear but I manage to play around with the position by loosening bit by bit. So far so good

Have to replace it soon, hopefully not too soon.

Happen the previous a lot of short distance ride, stop and start. I did not add anything that draws except the iu. Thus that's the main suspect.

 

Anyway it's know the slim iu will draw power from the battery. Cheers

Hi guys, jus got my bike jus now . First ride on it, the throttle like not react fast snuff. ard 5k RPM my speed only maintaining at 60kph, (is it norm for new bike)? when i pillion, the pillion feet like hitting my leg. and the height is it can adjust? as for DT 300 i also need to tip toe not like the one i tried before purchasing. when squeezing thru traffic i still not zhai enuff. sometime my handle bar will turn n nearly hit cars.
