Touring does not need deep pocket. Just the right attitude will do...... Just retired from poser to real biker....

Wah shiok leh! I want to pose with "expensive big cow"(not the nick big cow) and go fast fast and come back next day also don't have. Sianz. I also want to retire. No big expensive bike to pose and go fast to start posing.

Aiyah, nothing to pose to begin with how to to retire? Ha ha.

Just an update..... The Cable for opening the seat hooks broke. Cable replaced at MS

Mine also burst last month.

Apparently water must have collected thru the key hold area and found its way to the cable and cause corrosion and thus burst from the rust weakening it.

I have since spray some grease inside the key hole and plenty of it so the other cable may not rust.

Went home park the bike change and about to go out and turn the key. ALAMAK!!! cannot start!!!

I turn the key but the meter and lights flicker. I say siao liao must be I lub the ignition now shorted cannot start. No weak cranking or hard starting what so ever a while ago. So I guess must be the ignition shorted. Siao liao. Bo bian, over the next few days clean the ignition and flush it with contact cleaner spray. Still the same. Sometimes ok sometimes not. Then battery became weak.

Bring battery go home charge and fix back and started normally. Ahh ok liao, try second time and same thing happened again - meter flicker and dim light. Siao liao again. Crank and crank and battery became weak after only a few crank. Haiz no bian gotta tow to MS liao. So I was suspecting the battery at this point since it was fully charge and not go flat so fast after a few crank. Knowing that there are battery after after 1 year old may give problem I decided to change the battery to try. Since its almost coming to 2 years and I can keep as spare if my current battery not spoilt, I decided to get one and try.

Put on new battery and problem was solved, yeah!!!

Now I will just wait for the other cable to burst or change 2 cable which one already burst and the other maybe in good working condition.

Then after that hopefully you won't be the next retired biker.

Cos if i quit my job will i b able to find a similar paid job? I dunno.

If i wanna start touring i nid to get a maid to help look after de kids. Household expenses oredi so high i dun think i can afford a maid...

Dats wat i meant lol....BUT.... i will definitely tour maybe couple years later wait till de youngest grows a little....riding to thailand has been a dream...

No need to quit job. Just need a little planning. Touring is not about rushing from point a to b. it's just enjoying the moment when you ride..... You don't need to spend a lot to go touring.....

Yup yup decent enough except not medium cow yours than medium cow. Mine is a 3 month old calf. If go far far ETA can only lengthen cannot shorten ha ha ha. If delayed cannot make up with faster speed.

Faster speed petrol burn faster also and thus need to go petrol station waste time again ha ha.

yup, mine was broken only one side ..... from my own "post mortem", bad rust only in the central parts...so I guess it is right, due to rainwater entering the key holes....... however my bike exposure to rain is almost nil.... it is always sheltered carpark and I don't ride in the rain less that KYMCO ride where the lead bike led us into heavy rain near IPOH!! hahah

So @parotae, should I spray OIL into my ignition now???

IMO WD40 should be enough because grease in a can spray after time will harden/thicken and will cause internal key mechanism complication. For general info WD40 where the WD means Water Displacement.

mine was rusted and burst near the front tip section where it form a u shape I suppose, trapping water. How water get there could be cold mornings condensation which is unlikely as that would mean all the cables will be rusting. The most likely would be washing bike. Unless you don't wash bike frequently then I also don't know liao ha ha. For me I always wash when I can at least once a week.

Ya after the battery change I sprayed grease inside the key hole again just to see if it will jam after a few years. Hope it doesn't become peanut butter muah ha ha ha ha.

That will help to a certain extend. As the cable is always moving by a few mm after pulling the cable, the section which move in and out at the tip will be deprive of grease/lubrication sooner or later (in this case if grease/lube was added then much later)and water may collect enough just enough at that area and start rusting ha ha ha ha. Prevention is better than cure ya. My theory lah, good and bad together. Can always do it at the next service.
