Bike oil definitely designed for bike but car oil different ? So there's always this concern on how the oil breakdown. Safest bet is bike oil ba.... :)

i use to ride a skipper 4 stroke (9years) and i've been using giant oil like triple R, Snell, mobil 1, with no ill effects. Once I feel like the scoot is not feeling smooth like usual I change them immediately without hitting the 5000km mark. After change can feel the immediate difference. Another way is to see the colour of the oil. Dip the dip stick to tissue drip of oil is enough to determine the quality of oil. Black is too long liao. Brown to dark brown is my gauge.

Just sharing how i do it. May not apply to most people :p

I've heard car using bike oil LOL! I guess like some would say, bike oil are far superior to car oil as super bike rev engine up to around 13000rpm. Imagine how good the oil need to be to protect the engine at those rpm.

There's a few brands that I used b4 and found it to last... Motul 7100, Amsoil 10w40, idemitsu

 

so far these are the few that I trust.. .

Do search for "Kymco Sg" in facebook and give us a "Like"

DT200 should be around 11k and DT300 is around 12k (depending on your age, you can check with Wong 97611908)

@JusJus - Justin, I am selling my excellent condition, accident free, drop free Downtown 300i. Super low mileage of 18000km for a less than 3 year old bike. Single owner with zero tansfers. Always sheltered carpark. Everything stock condition by a fussy owner with engineering knowledge. Always serviced by agent Motorsports only.

 

Break in done the gentle and progressive way with varying RPM. Serviced 300-500km then. After running in, serviced approx. every 3000km.

 

Superb & consistent fuel consumption of MORE than 30km/litre (Mixed highway and road, non sissy riding).

 

Selling to buy another bike.

 

Will retain my 2 digit number and you will get a new LTA number aka like a new bike.

Super4 is around 17k if I remember correctly.

And it's a totally different category's bike, how to compare?

 

Downtown can be considered as good quality scooter if compare with the rest : (SYM, Verspa, Gilera, Honda...etc)

Go to the shops see/touch the bike yourself then you can tell what brand is good, it's pretty obvious.

hi, any bros can advise between downtown 300 and xciting 400? currently riding a cygnus which still have 4 months left, tia :)

 

To me very diff to compare cos 1 is comfy the other sporty. Are u willing to trade off fc for the sportiness? Or are u willing to trade off a little power the more fc?

 

It really depends unless u can go either way otherwise the choice is pretty obvious. Its just like comparing burgman n tmax.

 

ANyway, dt good fc better underseat storage, more comfy. Xciting on the other hand more power, so so fc, underseat only 1 helmet. But all in all both are good imo.

 

Why dun u pay MS a visit? Seat on the 2 bike n see which yr butt pefer lol...
