hey guys i'm thinking of getting one 300i ..do u guys know how much does it cost.how the bike so far??? good??

The FC is great. Bike is easy to handle.

But you'll need the back box if you need space to put things.

If you are ard my height, about 1.78m, you won't be able to stretch out your legs.( I used to ride the Silverwing)

But if you are okay with the sitting position, then it is pretty comfortable.

Initially had some hiccups, but Motorsport has been great in solving the issues.

So far the bike is doing fine for me.

Yup, squeezing is surprisingly almost as easy as a small bike.

What is your FC like. Will send for checking/tuning soon. 25km/l

As for cornering, have to get use to the characteristic of scoot and tire first. Anyhow do sure skid and fall :D

Yup have to agree with @synman, Motorsport has been great in listening to our feedback and provide the necessary action and support :thumb:

Just pump up my petrol today.

Calculated my FC with the new clutch system.

It is @ 27km per litre.

Actually I was wondering whether electronically they can adjust my fuel injection to be stronger

or rather faster input.

Wanna try something out! ;)

Wah, that's great! Base on 10 liters comparison you are 20km better than mine and paithorn is 50km more than mine..

Read in the Taiwan forum if I remember correctly, the American model SK60AF is using a bigger injector. So maybe a change in injector can give better performance.

icic..thanks for the wonderful info bro=) i was thinking comparing with super 4, kymco is quite big will you guys have a problem squeening in cars?? btw im also quite short only 163.. the bike seem to be quite high too=(

Ive got an ex colleague who is 1.6m and he is riding one. He too convert from super 4 to downtown 300. But he is speed freak lah. I ask him why down grade? He says his friend buying downtown 125i so Kenna psycho by bike shop plus he wants to be less aggressive so change to the 300. I was like huh! Ya right, this bloody scoot is just as capable of aggressive riding depending on the person riding it.

Anyway about the squeezing part, Synman will be a good person to comment as he rode lots of bikes. As for me, squeezing is almost as easy as squeezing with a runner.

Posted

Aiyah, dun like that say. More bikes means the pocket burn more......lol

Super 4 would be easier as I find the sitting position is more forward

while scooters are more in a natural sitting position.

Size wise I would say they are about the same, though I feel the Super 4 would be a wee bit smaller.

I agree with Bro Parotae that squeezing is probably as easy as a runner though I have never ridden on one.

I have rode on the Piaggio X9 and it is also pretty easy to squeeze too.

Thing is that on the DT, you are literally sitting "inside" the bike while for the Super 4, you are like "covering" it.

If you are going for power and handling, then the Super 4 would suit you better.

The DT is great for handling and power for a scooter of its class.

If ideally for squeezing, I would prefer a Super 4 as I can control the clutch while I'm weaving in and out.

Back to the same old thing about scooter.

Your shoes will be dry even when the floor is wet after raining..... lol

And I'm too lazy to play with clutches nowadays. After my X9, never really look back unless.....

it is for a 600cc Superbike....;) then maybe comeout of retirement...lol

Luckily I dun have class 2

Yup this evening light rain, rode from bukit timah to jurong east only my sleeves are wet. The rest like pants are just lightly wet. I am wearing a cotton jacket and my chest area are protected from the rain due to the deflection of wind and rain by the windscreen.

Hi all! I just got my 2B license 1 week ago [i'm 18 this year], and have been riding the DT125i.

Really impressed with the scooter. And yes, I can testify that my shoes remain dry even when riding in the rain. The DT125i has excellent rain protection.

What I'm not so happy about is the fuel quantity indicator. Assuming the 125i does 30km/L, and the full tank capacity is 12.5L, that means out of the 5 bars, each bar should travel only 75km on average? My DT125i first bar disappears only after 100km or so. Why is this so? Is it because the fuel tank is irregularly shaped?

Yes. Most fuel tank are not regularly shaped. Dun worry too much abt the bars. It shd be yr mileage done after every top up that really gives you more accurate FC

Have you seen Xciting 300? Slightly more ex than downtown, lower cc but higher top speed about 150km/h. Xciting 400 not out yet and hopefully not expensive :)

check with you the top speed of 125i . or you still running in?

Hi! Well, even though it's "running-in", most of the time I'm full throttle especially when I move off from traffic lights.

Maximum speed is 120kph. I'm 1.7m, 75kg, and that's achieved on a downhill. But on our roads, or at least where I travel, there's hardly a chance to hit such speeds for long. At most 2-3 secs, before there's another car in front/ I hit traffic.

Most of the time, I'm cruising at 90-100kph. The bike's rpm is at 7-8000 rpm. At 80 kph, the bike's rpm is at 6600rpm.

A lot of people may think the Downtown 125i having the same body as the 300i to be severely underpowered, but I beg to differ.

It's more than enough actually IMO to keep up and even overtake traffic!

I like the DT due to the huge underseat space, which is more than the Xciting. The size means I'm also more visible on the road.

Ride safe everybody!

I've seen the MaxSym 400. The MaxSym actually has a lower seat height than the DT. That said, if you can live with the cheapo plastic build quality, as well as the limited underseat storage [good only for 1 helmet, the DT can put 2 easily, and there's still space for rain-coat, gloves...], and the less than ideal styling, then by all means go for the MaxSym 400.

If I'm not wrong, the MaxSym 400's warranty is only 3-months?? Can anyone confirm this?

Personally though, I prefer the looks of the DT compared to the MaxSym, which is obviously copied from the Burgman. Everything from the front, to the dashboard, to the tail-lights, are copied from the Burgman. Which means to say, it's sort of a 5-6 years old design now??

If you want a 400cc bike, why not wait for the Xciting 400 to come next year??

My attempt at changing the spark plugs.

Remove the ECU cover after opening seat. Unhook the ECU plug

Remove 8 number 10mm screws around seat. (2 in front , 2 in the middle, 2 at the back and 2 for the neumatic seat stay.

Remove clip on the right side of scoot below/under seat compartment. Clip have to be push in in the center for black plastic clip to be removed. If you forgot you will notice that the tub won't come out.

With tub out half way, un plug the tub light.

Viola!! done.

Must remove the spark plug head adapter if not cannot fit into cable.

Ok lah, quite easy. Only problem is must be very careful not to cross thread when turning in the spark plugs. If cross thread finish, must change clylinder head :p

I rather leave these stuff to properly trained mechanics =)

Don't wanna risk it.
