Eh...ha ha no expert here.

Engine should be ok as the engine will stall before any damage is done, unless we are talking about heat seizure due to no engine oil.

So long as the clutch is engaging it should be fine ha ha.

In my theory, the parts that can be affected with technique like this are:

1. Belt slippage

2. Bell warp

3. Burnt clutch pads

Neh, don't worry about it. This kinna of things happen only if you use it like a racing bike. In other words aggressive riding for extended period of time.

I do ride very aggressively once in a while for a while only ha ha, so far so good :p

I notice that when I corner, the rear wheels start to give me that sliding/ skidding sensation.

Is it a common feeling? It felt as if something at the rear wheels wasn't tightened properly.

In any case, the DT125i is still serving me just fine, and there's none of that vibey or clunky issues, with the CVT.

Oh and just to add, the 69th EICMA show in Italy is now officially opened to public.

I hope more official pics on the Xciting 400/ New Xciting will be posted on their webpage!

if you are cornering/leaning more than usual, it could be because that particular part of tire that are rarely use hence the rubber is coated with debris hence the grip not so good.

And if it is the usual cornering then something is worn. Could be a worn bushing usually the parts that connect the engine to the chassis swing up and down. Still your scoot is too new to have this symptoms. The most obvious reason is low tire pressure. Check them, should be around 32psi for the rear.

If you think that the wheels aren't tighten properly, put it on full stand. shift the weight to the front so the rear wheel is off the ground. shake the wheel side to side to see if it shakes.

Haha. Ok. The wheels aren't lose. And I just pump up the tire pressure ytd. I realize if the tire pressures are low, the lack of grip is worse.

But really, it isn't a big problem for me. It's still superbly stable at expressway speeds.

Yes! Finally you got official pictures of the new 2012 Xciting!

Hopefully, Kymco decides to put in the 400cc engine in this new look model as well, rather than the outgoing model.

This will be my next bike after I get me 2A license!

Glad that the underseat storage is more useable than the outgoing Xciting Ri.

Did you know that you can open the seat with the engine running?

I use to off the engine then open the seat and start again.

If i need to open the seat again i have to off the engine and start again, until i read in a forum that you can still open the seat with the engine running :D

And did you know after you open the seat, there is this two poles/stick/bar sticking out in front on each side is for you to loop the Double D ring of your helmet. So you can hook 2 helmet outside if there is no space under the seat storage. The only problem is that your helmet D ring strap needs to be long enough. At first mine i tried very hard to fit, once fitted the D rings trough the pole/stick/bar have to close carefully so there is no stress to the seat and pole/stick/bar. The helmet may hang in a weird way as though it is floating due to tension ha ha.

If your helmet is the non double D ring type then cannot hook but maybe if strap the strap together and close may even work. Have to experiment first to see if it works.

I think this one is mostly for the European market. Why Ang moh like 300cc i don't know. Maybe their license? Maybe if they want mare than 300 they would have opted the larger capacity like 500cc and above.

Very unlikely the 400 engine will go into this scoot because it is mentioned that it is a city commuter hence no stretch legs. Want bigger and stretch leg and sports touring maybe that's why Xciting 400 is there. Ang moh would have prefer 500 though i think. Funny no 500 - no market demand?

Xciting 400 is perfect for Singapore due to the 2A license restriction. Most would want to ride to the full cc limit of their license.

I think Paithorn did mention that the bike move off around 3.5 to 4 rpm.

Actually it starts moving at 2.5 rpm but the bike doesn't seem to have enough torque

to move off.

Actually, one thing bug me about our run in.....

If it is true that we don't really have to run in, then we should have used full synthetic oil from the start..... :p

With the current oil, the engine seems "louder" than usual.

Even my ex Silverwing 600 need 3000RPM to move off slowly. 3500 for a 300cc is quite good lah

I knew it from Day 1. The Mech at Motorsports told me. I think this is a great design espcially for someone like me who do not like to off and on engine.

The helmet ring design is a disgrace thou....

So XCT and Xciting are two different models now huh?

But glad that though the front of the Xciting 400 still looks largely the same as the current Ri models, at least the underseat storage is more regularly shaped, and there's a change in the tail-light and speedo design as well.

Not reaching any time soon. My guess maybe end of next year ha ha. Hopefully much earlier and that is if Motorsport consider bringing it in.

Price wise, Kymco always not cheap.

My guess maybe around $14K-$15 OTR given that Downtown 300 is around $12K OTR

Hope it's expensive, so I don't have to upgrade ha ha :p

If Kymco is not cheap, then what is?

For the equivalent Japanese rival [if there's one that actually looks as aggressive], that'll be even more expensive.

Yes, 2 different model..

Kymco may have chose a short form to prevent confusion. Especially if you search xciting 300 over the Internet.

I think K-XCT stands for (K)ymco(-)(X)©i(T)ing

I am very XCITed about this scoot because of the parts that I maybe alble to transplant.

First up would be the 3port front caliper. No modification needed I guess since it uses the same front shock.

Secondly, the mirrors.

Third maybe the exhaust, extensive modification though to right swing beam/ suspension support. May have to cut some panels to fit.

Too bad the rear shock can't be use due to different layout.

Then the injector, fuel pump...etc

Lastly, the transmission.

Time and money is still an issue though ha ha :D

Fancy an up grade in braking power from K-XCT? :cheeky:

Sym are more competitively priced.

Haha. But they're products lack the quality of Kymco and the style as well, except perhaps for the GTS 200.

Other than that, their styling CMI compared to Kymco, which doesn't make them direct competitors.
