Discussion: Should Capello allow Gerrard to play in Rooney's role for England.

Read the news about Gerrard telling Capello to give him a chance in playing "in the hole" for England instead of Rooney in hope of replicating his club form for England. What do you think? No rights or wrongs here. Just wanna have a good discussion. So no Man U or Liverpool bashing also k?

 

Personally, I do not think its a good idea. Because in Liverpool, Gerrard excel in the role because the formation that Benitez uses, 4-2-3-1, allows him to do so. With 2 defensive midfielders covering the back four, Gerrard can roam all he wants without having to worry about tracking back.

 

But England, or should I say Capello, NEVER plays the same system that Benitez uses. At most i will be a 4-4-2 with 1 defensive midfielder. And also, England DO NOT have a striker of Torres class for Gerrard to feed off.

Since when did Capello or the England FA or whoever decides England's play, mentioned that the role u mentioned ever belong to any certain player?

 

Any player with any good form, I would presume be good enough to play whatever the manager decides.....

rooney and gereard link up together very well as if they were team mates (yah right..)..

it bodes well for england.. lets just see englands coming match see whether if capello got it right..

and oh.. capello call rooney a crazy man..
