oh well maybe must be recession turns ppl bad and despo hehehe

Thats just the way life is .. I suppose.

Maybe it just boils down to survival.

Outwit outplay outlast.

In this case, I got out witted... I got played out... hiaz:dozed:

I actually vented to my sister about it and she told me that in harsh economic times, you get to see the true colors of certain people. Because human nature can be good and/or very vile indeed.

But hey, at least I know for sure that there are still good merchants with integrity out there. Its really just my luck that I was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I do hope that tong aik changes for the better, the potential of having a quality brand of service is there.

And I how I used to love to visit the shop before I got my class 2b to marvel at the beautiful vespas and accessories.. but I am just one unlucky lad who had a really bad experience with them which gave me much distress due to losing a whole chunk of my savings and to have practically nothing done. I really wished that I could turn back time and just DIY for my scooter...

Today I checked my dear scooter only to realize that the signal lights are not working, so I have been signaling for nothing :dozed:

The despair...the pain... I really feel like a sucker. FML srsly~

I need some waffles to cheer me up.

Care to share what the $700 actually got spent on?

hi Sharpey, I was not really given a detailed break down at all.

But here is what work got done:

- clutch & brake handle (w/o chrome)

- front box (second hand)

- gear box (This I did not request for but gave in after lady vehemently insisted I get change or not dangerous to ride:sian:)

- wiring (I was told this cost $135.00 by another vespa rider who used to patronize tong aik but had switch because of the high price tags)

That's all of my knowledge. Maybe the price was so high due to the cost of their workmanship, idk... but as I mentioned, my signal lights aren't working and the motor cut off is faulty,so I have to manually unplug the connector in order to off the engine. At this point of time, its seems that my dear scooter is crumbling. wth~ never really understood buyer's remorse till now.

Hors3m3n: can you elaborate~ How were you actually treated as a customer?

Personally, I am made to wait and wait while the lady talks about alot of irrelevant topics to the client/customer she "dealing" with while keep saying to me

: "u wait arh Miss~ I very busy~ got to settle this customer, or not later problem"

While I was plainly there hearing her give her comments on other vespa shops and some other trivia stuff. (of course I will not be mentioning what I overheard to be fair)

as a seller i understand the fact that she gave negative comments abt other shops.. hey, alot of shops does that.. thats natural in trying to stay competitve.. i totally understnd that before i bought a vespa n was enquiring at her shop abt vespas.. but when i finally bought one, i had to make a decision to send it to smwer trustworthy to do the internal parts.. n who better to trust then my own brother, n he recommended me a shop in tampines.. whether the workmanship is gonna be good or not will be determined by me of course, n it may vary from my brothers' vespa.. but as a customer, after uve done dat, n spend quite a sum on it, u wldnt want to hear pple saying that the place sux coz u wldnt feel gd.. n thats wat she did to me when i came over again to ask certain questions..

i made my decision to do my internal at tampines n outlook at TA initially.. so i went there to get some quoting to calculate my budgets.. but i was not treated nicely.. she kept goin on and on abt the shop i send to bein poorly equipped n unprofessional.. i came there with money in hand planning to invest the outlook on my vespa at TA n that was how i was treated.. after abt 30mins listening to her complaining, i went off.. its natural to be competitive, but not to an expense of making the customers feel like sh1t.. she cld have just treated me as a customer wanting her service on the outlook of my vespa n not touched on something which ive already done and make me feel bad abt my decision.. coz i cant change wat ive done.. so wats her point?

but this is just a bad experience for me, a customer whom she lost due to not consulting her first hence she somehow "boycott" me.. it wld have been totally different if i had send my vespa to her shop to do everrything.. thats why this thread have mixed views.. that's y those who have been patronising TA dont think that TA are how we, who are mistreated, see them..

well now i have to find another shop to do the outlook.. thinking of ah joo or hendra.. i hope they dont question my decisions as a customer.. coz we have the right to enquire n not misjudged..

Eh... a bit blind... sorry....

To be honest... sounds like it might be a better idea to sell this scoot and get a different one... I smell gremlins...

As for what you had done... hard to say...

If you'd like to start again, try Hendra... he's a nice chap :) No complaints from anyone...

I'll still be going to Tong Aik... I know them well.

Mdm Soh is only really trying to be helpful... It's true that there has been issue with that shop in Tamps before...(then again there have been issues with all shops at some time or another) But yeah... I know what you mean... just pinch of salt a bit lah... She really means well...

But really, send your scoot wherever you want... its a free world... I would recommend Hendra as a solid option for both internal and external work... Super nice guy.

hors3m3n: I understand how you feel. In fact I have been through that too. The curly haired lady asked me where did I used to do up my scooter at and I cordially told her. But instead of focusing on what I wanted to get done presently, she kept giving her "expert" comments on the workshops I have patronized previously. She even commented on "why I so stoopit". Gosh!~

And to add to the distress I was going through, she even said: "WHY you dunno how to come to US? We are the correct channel.... you go other place kana CHEAT for wat?"

:dozed: In the end.... I feel cheated by them instead.

She did make me feel bad as you did..... and worse.

As for sharpey, I know you are a tong aik /supporter/fan. And I respect that. I was also once in your position. But now, things have changed and I see clearly already. I have decided to move on and find a workshop that I can trust.

At the mean time, there is still none I have decided upon, but thanks to hors3m3n and maes2ro's recommendations, I still feel that there are still Vespa workshop out there with integrity which I am willing to patronise, support and ultimately trust them with my dear scooter.

My Bad experience, never goes to those sell spareparts.

They will always say this and that spoilt or wear off le(which still have a long way to go)

TA have ask me change my X9 clutch, which to them say going botak soon la.... and story. The surprise is when i present the old clutch to the other shop.(" Wahhhh. So much clutch still say botak." then he show me the REAL botak clutch)

Spare part shop only know how to push their spare part to us and not services. Same to those sell aftermarket parts. This is their bowl of rice, if they don`t push parts to us.

Now i only goes to those lao kok kok shop that KNOW HOW to repair and not sell parts.

Tong Aik have been inside my List of Parts only shop.
