All the wires on your bike is called the wiring harness... When they say change wiring harness, it means to change all the wires on your bike... That's what my mech told me...

Then I don't think its the wiring harness problem Liao... Mine I used for 1 and a half year, no problem... Btw, u check your cdi?

Posted
;7916096']i think my CDI going to spoilt soon too. cause the 'gum" in the CDI melted. Can i just buy aftermarket CDI and just install in?

Cdi gum melting is normal... Wait till all the gum melted then get a mechanic to full it up with high temperature silicon... What u mean by aftermarket cdi? Made in china? Or those racing specs cdi?

Oh.. didn't know can top it up with high temp silicon. Mention by mechanic need to change CDI. But how to know are all the gum melted?

Aftermarket are those made in China or those "HRC" CDI which can be bought off eBay.

Anyway CDI are just plug and play?

Yup, plug and play. But different cdi got different program in it. When u buy from ebay, not confirm u can use it. Even in Singapore, buy first hand cdi also not confirm can use. The cdi timing different. And also got power cut at 200km/h... That's why... High temp silicon and workmanship $90... How long has it been melting already?

I see. Thought if just plug and play and need to change I rather just buy off from eBay ($100+). I was quoted about 200 - 300 for that CDI alone. Don't know why the mechanic didn't tell me about topping up the high temp silicon.

It's like since last year? Can't really remember.

Gonna solve my battery issue first. Haven't got time to find out what's the problem.

hi, im upgrading to cbr400 soon. im wondering why does cbr400 sellers(rrr sellers) tends to advertised and showoff their cbr without powercut. if they manage to remove the powercut of a r model fireblade does that mean that cbr have more value? i dont understand, if its so, then its not 100% stock. shouldn't it be off lesser value though it have higher max speed now? Hmm. i look thru the cbr4 thread as well, notice some bro there also like to showoff their cbr400 without powercut. if its K or J model the older model, then its common sense it doesn't have powercut???

Also are the FP plates the final batch of cbr400 of 1997?

I'm not sure. Didn't ask him though.

Anyway I recharged my battery and now my bike can start.

Without headset on - 3 - 4k rpm the voltage will maintain at around 13v

With headlight on - only 12v

Isit normal?

Who told u it should be sold lesser? I had an R model cbr before, but I installed the hurricane model cdi... Without power cut... Breakdown of cbr models in launching sequence,

1. Hurricane model(1980+ mayb earlier)

2. L model (1980?)

3. N model (1980++?)

4. R model (1990+?)

Why the cost should be equal to or more than the stock price, is because the parts are extremely rare and almost impossible to find nowadays. Especially hurricane model parts. Powercuts are mostly in the cdi. Brand new cdi cuts at 200km/h. I tested them myself. Hurricane cdi and the skies the limit. 230km/h and still possible to go faster, if u can handle the wind resistance that is... Unless u got a thing for speed, I suggest u get a normal cbr with powercut. No point going fast since u don't have a thing for speed.

Because, it is like this before the battery goes flat too. It seems like the voltage will goes up when you rev but doesn't charge.

Anyway it's a new battery.

Oh Ya, I'm using a 55watt Bulb don't know does it matters.

Thanks bro.

Previously i was using a white bulb which the bulb is 55watt too and the mech told me change to orange colour will be better. so it wont consume much battery as compare to white bulb. :?

Yup, correct... Cos my cbr idling without head light is 13.8V, on the headlight will be about 11.8V, mine was hid light at that time. On headlight and rev, will be about 12.3V.

Posted
;7917190']mine idling without headlight is 12.6v only.. lol

Oh ya... 13.8V is rev without light... Sorry... Idling without light about 12.6-12.8V... Idling with light is 11.8V... Rev with light is 12.3V...
