i can't make it next week on weekdays. my next weekday session will most prolly be 30 june or July coz i only got 1 weekday off per month. my off days are normally weekends. will let you and glad know if i can make it on 30 june.

bro i cant make it tom as im workin night shift tonight...enjoy your session dude..30 june should be fine with me as after that i going for reservist..do let me know if you're going.

im hoping to go maybe 2nd or 3rd week of june also...think it'll only be ninja and me la..

hi guys i'm new here... taking my 2a and intend to change to cbr400 but i have some questions to ask you guys...

1. heard that cbr 400 have overheating problems is it true? if yes.. anyway to overcome it?

2. what do i check for when i'm getting a cbr400? what are the common problems?

hope you guys can clear my doubt before i blur blur go get a cbr 400 and end up throwing tons of money... thanks..

yes cbr400 are called fireblades so they r HOT!!..

bcos its a race machines, so special care for regular maintenance of the coolant, keep radiator n radiator cap in gud condition..

gettin a cbr400 is much like gettin other 3nd hand bikes... eg RVF or S4..

best to go buy wif a xperienced rider...

another way, is to buy from a seller dat has receipt to shows he has done up d bike cooling system ..replace d hose, pump, thermostat, radiator etc.....

cagiva is not really a VERY problematic bikes just that the bike is old then always pay abit more for the parts spoilt here and there only... btw thanks for ur advice.. i'll think through about the points u tell me and if i really got a fireblade i'll sure join u all =D

in the end go back shop today, they show me is hidden under the seat

My friend told me about the footrest when i got the bike, so I didn't go thru that stage. But since I have never pillioned anyone in my life, I think the footrest has rusted in it's hidden state liao.

Agree they are really HOT bikes

Things you need to check before buying it.

1) When was the last EO change / service

2) What filter is being used? KNN?

3) when cranking, listen to the sound, is it smooth, how about the pick-up?

4) Clutch, when you engage first gear does the bike "jump" (clutch plates)

5) Check the chain and sprokets

6) Radiator, is it leaking? or was an aproxy done or is it in perfect condition?

7) CBR bike is well known for having fuel pump problems, ride a few rounds around the carpark.

8) Was a valve clearence ever done?

erm.. sorry but the above is the basic i know.

hmmm...guyz some news i got yesterday when i go in for last tank apparently we manage to check with shell and caltex...i dunno it applies to the petrol stations at the custom from first link as mine was somewhere behind plaza pelangi...shell still can pump petrol until 20th june while caltex is 9th of june...den today my friend sent me this pic taken by some other bikers

haha same thing happened to me within the first week. my fren played a prank and 'hid' the pillion footrest i tot the thing kana stolen sia... :rofl:

scrolling through past pages of the thread will show some common problems of cbr.

like.

cooling system.

electrics (magnetic coil, rectifier, battery, headlight switch)

for LNR models differentiation, check the ownership letter/log card for the chassis number.

see what the string of number starts with.

i only know N model is '105', so my chassis number is NC29105.......etc.
