BTT is enough to convert license :)

When I converted some years back, Basic Theory is needed. So I took it and pass

So before I rush out and buy my HD this weekend, let me get one thing clear:

I have had a UK motorcycle license since 1981;

If I take and pass the BTT, I will be 'converted' directly to a Singapore Class 2 motorcycle license over here - able to ride motorbikes over 400 cc.

(ie I won't be converted to a Class 2B, then have to wait for at least another year to pass a test to Class 2A, and then wait at least another year to pass a test for Class 2)

Is this a verifiable fact or not?

Some clear clarification on this would be good as nobody can seem to give me a definite answer...

Is there anywhere official that might confirm this if it is indeed true, as if I have to wait two years to get to to Class 2, I shan't bother converting my license at all.

^^ You need proper documentation to prove you underwent training, then you have to producr proof of you riding a 400cc+ motorcycle overseas for a minimum of one year, probably the log book of the 400cc+ bike should have your name and you should produce valid insurance certificates for the time you have ridden the bike.

Yes if you provide the above and they agree to give you a Class 2 License

If not, then this will be the case.

The sooner the better to convert; incase you'll stay for 2+ years.

I doubt that anyone here will be able to give you a definitive answer. It is entirely up to the discretion of the officer in charge of your conversion whether you will get a Class 2B license or a Class 2. Even if we knew what papers you do or do not have, it might just come down to what mood the officer is in the day you go down there. And don't even bother arguing...

If I were you, I'd hold off on the purchase..., but hey it's your call.

From their website

Conversion for a higher capacity or open category motorcycle licence is normally not granted unless there are documentary proof of training, testing, ownership of bigger motorcycle and insurance policy indicating that you have gone through proper training and testing regime and have had at least one year riding experience on the road.
