Best i can do to shorten the story...

I just bought a bike today, honda nsr sp. Rode on with a spoilt fuel gauge (unknowingly) so actually had the bike died on me enroute home.

At this point i kick start multiple times before realising that tank was empty.

Aft filling the tank full, i am unable to start the engine via kick starting at all. I can only start via push start.

I am assuming the battery is gone (pls do correct me if im wrong). Wanted to ask what kind of dmg could i possibly had caused to the bike esp by trying to start the engine multiple times on empty tank.

Thanks!

Don't worry about it, starting without fuel is harmless. However, starting and running without engine oil is a different story altogether. From your description of the events, you should be fine.

Electric starting and push starting initiates the engine different. For push starting, you are forcing the combustion cycle to initiate and usually works. For electric starting, its not always successful even on a normal bike. Google or Youtube to understand a bit more, its not difficult.

Get your bike repaired. Electrical system (battery + rectifier) either one is faulty. That, or the spark plug is old and fouled up.

There's no fuel to begin with, so no combustion, no movement, no wear and tear damage to be worried about.
