should be a 1953 Douglas 125G. Beauty~

anyone know the owner?

somehow the post don't really show up the picture, duno why..but here's the pic instead, just more troublesome to d/l

This douglas was originally reg in S'pore with e no: S 7297 between 1953 to 1954 and was last owned by SH Cycle for 20 yrs and he dereg e bike as claimed by him. I wanted to buy e douglas from him but e price was not right. The vespa is now dereg so only can keep as a showcase. If the bike was still on the road it would be e oldest vespa in S'pore. Wat a pity.

Ah SH Cycle. Sounds Familiar..... Now where have I heard that name before...... Ah yes.... Now I remember. That was my first time riding a vespa like almost everyday. Got lots of plates, few model, PX, Excel, all the bikes have different characteristic. Some are fast while others are slow. Few vespas even have to push start every morning.

Those days were also the time when I learn that you can scrap the floorboard when corner too low, creating sparks on the road or do wheelie or "pop" as me and all the guys riding it call it. I could also go over the kerb just as a normal naked road bike can do.

One day my friend accidentally "pop" too much, resulting the vespa flipp 360 upwards. Luckily the box was much taller than him as he was only 1.56m.Else I wouldn't imagine what would happen.

Since 2004, Sh cycle stop renting vespa to Pizza Hut. And now u see the riders riding wave or their own bike. Gone were the days where u see a pizza hut vespa beat a sports bike at picup of the first traffic light. Gone were the days where almost every rider would have at least have a fall experience riding with Vespa.......

I miss riding those vespassss..... sobs sobs sobs

i take my hats off and salute Singapore Post. til today they firmly stood by vespa as the trusted mode of their postal service.

It's easy to laugh...It's easy to hate.

Though it takes strenght to be gentle and kind.
