does anyone know where to buy running watches - not just with stop watch function but looking for one with acceleration sensor. Timex has but needs an extra clip on the shoes and they use GPS though so its quite expensive.

casio has but shop assistant at shops doesn't know what i am talking about though.

Actually with the technology so advance nowdays... you can simply go http://www.mapmyrun.com to get the mileage you want. So a normal stop watch will do wonder liao. Or look for a running partner who has such distance measurement tool and confirm with them. Once you know the distance.... I guess you dun even need to get the complicated watch. Just a suggestion. :)

Actually i am looking at the GPS model. But seems like those models are a little huge for the hand. Personally, I have not try searching it yet. But I hear Polar has it. I am looking into tracking my distance more than the acceleration.

tried going to the website....am hopeless with maps and i can't seem to match the route hehe...

AfterDark : chance upon the watch today!!! ...casio with acceleration sensor. see this for more info http://www.amazon.com/Casio-Pedometer-Resin-Strap-SGW200-1VCF/dp/B001W0YEZO

in sg retail 119 and the stop still have 10% discount...so price wise a lil expensive as compared to buying online but diff is of course u can get and use it immediately vs having to wait for the watch to arrive and warranty validity is something am not sure abt, so i rather pay more to buy here....might want to go to bencoolen or bras basah might be able to get it. price wise beats e rest and is rather light. i dun need a GPS haha

can also buy from ebay http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/Casio-Speed-Distance-Watch-Low-Shipping-SGW200-1V_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQitemZ370186792781

Looks good Lass. I think it should pretty fit the function I want. I didnt know CASIO came out with this watch. Maybe I will drop by the CASIO retailer at Bugis to find out a little more about the watch. Keep you in the loop. Cheers!

already bought mine at bencoolen mall...2 versions and one of it is a rubber strap but i got the cloth strap one.

cloth strap = 77

rubber strap = 73

just that you need to fiddle and learn about the functions and one of which that baffles me is the size of your stride which you need to input. hv yet to read the manual.

looks simple but power packed with a lot of features

You are fast and furious... I am still lagging behind. Do you mind letting me know if the watch tracks the distance accurately? :cheeky: Thanks in advance.

hehe i made someone buy it for me cos he simply doesn't know what I want and wants to bring me for makan instead. i prefer tangible and useful stuff hehe.

yup trying to figure how to use it...am an idiot with gadgets so you will have to bear with me for a bit while i learn. have yet to try it out cos i do most of my weekday runs in the gym but i may try to benchmark it agst the threadmill which will give a pretty good guage of it's accuracy.

er am not fast & furious....am slow and lethargic....hehe

actually e watch is not bad...just that i still am bad in measuring my step size and so my distance clocked is still screwed up. if you get the step size correct then, it shd be quite ok..don't expect 100% accuracy la but is close enough...i bought it from bencoolen and for 73 - 77 bucks, it's good enuf.

mizunos are good running shoes. think now they got sale, if ur friends got world of sports membership, discount is not bad now.

am using the wave rider 12 which is very light and good for neutral runners.

am now looking at saucony but hard to find.

for more recommendations go to runnersworld.com usually got reviews abt shoes.

asics is good but quite over price....adidas and nike...they have become more fashion brand.

new balance and brooks have good shoes too...

am not a big time runner...just that i have knee problems b4 so i ended up researching alot to understand abt shoes better.
