You are supposed to have it with you, if road authorities ask to see it. It's an offense if you do not have it.

If the previous owner never pass to you, call 1800-call-lta and ask for another one. If you are going to renew soon, you can either mount it in the round disc on your bike OR carry the road tax piece of paper in your wallet.

Suppose to have la..but if u really kenna check just say u lost it while riding..

the disc flew off..any excuse.

As long as the bike has a valid rd tax..nothing will happen don't worry.

the auntie will press then number inside the thing and will show that you paid money.

Always ride safely and defensively.

Repair bike cheap and fast,

Repair body expensive and slow.

under the traffic act regulations, all vehicles must display road tax on their vehicles.

those whom ignore or failure to do so, will be fine from authorities.

even from parking auntie attendants whom have the rights to issue summon.

Ya right, who u kidding man...think auntie so free ah ?

Bend down to look for ur road tax label...haha

Heard anyone been fine for not displaying road tax ?

How much is the fine ?

Personally I have been riding for 11yrs....never ever once display.

Stop by TP roadblock..the TP never even bother to look for road tax.

Just chk my license n insurance and that it...say i can go liao.

They will not be so free to be bother by this kind of minor issue la so don't worry..just ensure ur vehicle has everything paid for ( insurance, rd tax etc)

All they need to do is just punch in the vehicle no. and they will know if its paid ornot...anyway u always come up with an excuse say u did display but the disc got stolen (specially for motorbike) just planning to call LTA for re-placement loh.( BUT I ASSURE U NO ONE FO FREE TO ASK LA, CAUSE THEY SURE KENNA F@#$K)

Now is the 20th century, everything is going paperless, just have to go AXS and u can renew the road tax..no longer like the old days..

Btw the way its an offense not to stop at STOP line too..

but u ever see vehicle stop ? ever saw ppl got caught ?

LOL ...:cheeky:

Its not TPs prob in this case. Usually handle by ROV or LTA. They are the authority to see if you have made any illegal mods on the bike. They not happy with you also can summon hahha.

Road safety is TP.

To be kiasu, its good to display. No harm.

oh. so its supposed to display, but the chances of gettin caught is 1%? lol

so if i wan to get it, who do i go to? the bike shop wher i bought my bike from or LTA?

Go to LTA and ask for a replacement. If you don't mind taking the risk you can wait until it is time to renew and get a new one, especially if yours is expiring soon.

Everyone knows that the only law is "anything is legal if you don't get caught". But in this case don't take the risk, it is just a tiny disk, won't slow your bike down.

Everything about riding is like that: you can do the same thing everyday for many years, but it takes just one time to screw your whole life over. Applies to accidents, and also to complying with the law. You can read many stories in this forum: riding wife's bike without insurance, riding 2A bike for short distance without licence. I'm sure many people here have done all these without getting caught.

The gamble is yours. For road tax disc, why gamble when there's no prize?

Ask the bike shop. If its a new new bike, your bikeshop maybe doing the road tax for you. It will take some time. The road tax is sually mailed to you. Check with your bikeshop. Do also check your mailbox.

And yes, your are suppose to display your road tax. Those that say no need, are taking chances. Its like parking on pavements. Everytime park never get caught. Then one day get caught complain y must pay fine. In the first place they know that it is illegal to park there. Even if park there 5 or 10 mins, won't it still consider against the law? Very Farnie when I think about the issues. hhahahha. Story created here is not affiliated with the living or the dead.
