is it true fz8 using 2008 R1 engine but smaller bore size? Wats the FC for this bike? full tank can go how far? top speed or the highest speed any 1 tried b4? most of my fren got 1Kcc bike..scared cannot catch up if go rinding up north with them.. hmmmm.,.. thanks in advance

ok bros..aku da check dgn supplier. dey have headlight protectors for other bikes as well. so kalo perlu tinted ke clear ke sila pm saya bike model anda ..so far all fazer n r1 dia ade..blackbird pon ade ..price should still be $45 max.. thanks!

Use R1 engine or not that I don't know. Probably it used the same type of engine or engine design.

 

FZ8 has a smaller bore and stroke compared to the 2008 R1 engine.

 

2011 FZ8 - Bore x Stroke = 68.0×53.6mm

 

2008 R1 - Bore x Stroke

77 X 53.6 mm

 

2011 FZ1 - Bore x Stroke 77 X 53.6 mm

 

As u can see, the bore and stroke are widely different. The R1 and FZ1 share the same bore and stroke while the FZ8 is smaller. The bore and strokes determine the size of CC of bikes.

 

Now back to your question, i think the FZ8 will lag behind in terms acceleration and top speed but it will have no problem following the big boys when everyone travels at the same speed in the regions of 140km/h to 180km/hr.

 

But then again, it all depends on rider as well.. How much balls he has holding that high speed constantly.

 

FC and top speed is not that we know as no one here rides the FZ8 other than Yanto ( R_yan_2). He is riding the naked version. He might be able to give u some insight to the FZ8N.

 

Most of us here rather throw in the extra $2-$3k extra for the FZ1. The insurance and roadtax is not much difference in price. Servicing cost is the same as a FZ1. And that extra 200cc do make a lot of difference in term of acceleration and top speed.
