Ouch!

By the way, try to copy that problematic archived folder file (in PST format) onto a removable hard drive and find another computer with an earlier version of Outlook and see if it will open or not.

If it does, don't waste time: create a new PST on computer #2 and copy everything (emails, calendars, tasks, etc...) off to that new PST.

Then walk back to your computer where that cranky Office 2007 is and open up that new PST alongside your mail. Does it open up fine?

P.S.: To find out where your archived folder is located on the hard drive, right click on it and select Properties.

Another option you can try (instead of finding another computer) is, on the same computer itself create a new MAPI profile.

In other words, create a new Mail profile under Control Panel > Mail.

Then, fire up Outlook, and open up that problematic PST file.

P.S.: What do you mean "during PST file conversion to PSX"? You tried upgrading your PST?

cries out *MS has a bugggg!*

kmax,

Some 2 months ago, I have a remote home user whom .pst is asking for a password. Users don't even remember he created a password for it as well.

I just couldn't recall how I convert the .pst to be usable without any password at last. It could be some dark forum that I source a tool to run by the .pst file.

Do you still want me to try it out?

What's the .pst file size and any confidential mails in it you don't want anybody to view? Want to sent them to me to try it out?

Cheers!

You really took a freaking long time to respond this huh.

Yes, the tool is suppose to create some RANDOM weird password and you can access to PASSWORD PROTECTED .pst file.

These tool really help to break into some naughty staffer whom think they can keep their things from IT.

It need a crook to catch a thief huh.

Anyway, glad your problem is solve.

I've known about many tools for working with ms outlook passwords. But only one of them satisfies my high requirements. It is able to solve such problem quite easily and demonstrate ability resolving some other issues also - password recovery outlook 2003.
