The job of the air-filter is to keep all the dust and bits that are present in the air out of your engine.

The job of the air-box is to house the air filter, and regulate the air flow that can enter the engine.

The air-filter is usually a spong that should be oily (contain's oil). And the oil helps to trap the dust and bits in the air, but allows the air to get through.

For happy motoring, leave them alone, and make sure the air-filter is cleaned and oiled every other service.

difference??

Airbox is the box holding the airfilter to be exact!

Is more than that.

The airbox protects the air filter from the external environment, and the air draw within the airbox is also cleaner so the air filter can last longer.

its called pod filters or open air filters right..

airbox keeps air in the box for instant intake to the carbs.

the pod filters take air from anywhere else.

ram air is forced pressured air.

i feel airbox is more pick up.

u may mod it a bit for ur desired application.
