Cannot say like that la. The sporty is in a different class of it's own, not cruiser enough to be called cruiser, not sporty enough to be a sports bike, not muscular enough to be a muscle bike. I think it's more a naked, cafe racer style bike.

Actually if you look at some jap sites, they already have the sporty modded to look like the XR1200 for racing purposes. It's not something new.

Again, different class, just like why there's motard.

Hey Guys & Gals,

I juz took my XR1200 ( Pewter Denim ) from HD from 04Jan 2010. The bike is Great, with lots of power compared to my Honda CB400 Super4.

Juz tat the throttle is very sensitive and a twitch accelerates the bike. The XR is belt driven.

The only thing is tat, belt drive seems to use more clutch power to smoothen the bike, at a slow speed, 2nd-1st gear, juz b4 it stops. If u dun clutch in juz b4 u stop, the bikes rattles n vibrates. Unlike chain drives, it doesnt rattle or vibrate at slow speed juz b4 u stop. I guess u juz have 2 get used to it. Belt drives juz have 2 clutch in early than usual chain drives.

Any1 else share the same feelings on tis or care 2 comment?

I also ride the XR1200. I use to ride a BMW R1150R. I will tell you that the XR1200 is a much more fun bike to ride. It less bulky and fantastic for city riding!! The belt drive also makes it a more comfortable ride especially for the pillion as there is less pull at start up.

If you are looking for speed and racing, this is not the bike. If you want a nice, cool sounding bike for city use, and an ocassional ride up north, this bike is for u!!

Hi Guys,

Jz collected my XR1200X in Jan and loviing it :) This is my second harley (the first being XL883R Orange) and before that I rode a few models from BMW. Must say that this bike loves the 'bends' and I don't feel stressed with too many up or down shifts as long as the tach reads 2k rpm.... Being a 2010 model, the suspension is upgraded now and fully adjustable front and back and brakes are great with floating disc up front as standard. So for Welly, if you are thinking abt it...well..maybe go for it and am sure you will not regret it though take a test ride first in my opinion..

Ciao and ride safe

(PS- I'm not connected nor work for Harley : )
