Sim Lim.

There is a shop on the 3rd floor (i think) that specializes in wires and connectors.

Elsewise, I believe that most stores would carry this but this comes bundled with the main peripherals such as DVD recorders, DV to PC recorders, etc...

I went to sim lim square and ask almost all the shops that are selling cable but still can't find. Any specific location that you are more sure that it will sell?

Wow...it's not found in Sim Lim Square?

How about Sim Lim Tower (sorry, I forgot to add that in). The reason for this recommendation is because at the basement, I remembered seeing shops selling audio and video equipment -- the item you're looking for is related to computers and audio/video rolled into one.

BTW, it's called the VGA to RCA & S-Video connector. Quite rare to see these things actually...I think this is custom made for the company that took a picture of it.

What are you trying to connect by the way? I don't assume you're going to connect all 3 ends to the equipments, just 2 right?

Yah juz 2 ends. the VGA and RCA or S-Video. My TV got both S-Video and RCA so I can use either one.

no point to connect ur laptop to TV (i assume ur TV is not LCD or plasma) as u can't really read the wording on screen.

but if urs is LCD or plasma TV it should come with VGA input.

can try to search at SLS 5th floor, forgot what is the shop name already, just infront the viewthru lift, the shop next to it named TNK, which i always buy IT product there, cheap & good thou :cheeky:

i wonder u can directly connect from ur laptop/pc to tv.. both are 2 different signals. normally we need a pc-tv convertor.

maybe u want to ask the shop owner if u manage to find this product.

i think this is used for projectors as they can receive tv and pc output.

Go to SLS, 6th floor. It's one of the shops behind, SUN (Something). They custom make cables of any lengths & configurations.

Why not?

I connect my notebook to project my movies on the TV, where clarity isn't regarded that much.

redbeacon,

What kind of connector do you use for your case?

i also interested to know what cable u use to connect from ur laptop to tv... s-video cable? provided the laptop comes with s-video output as it has a built-in convertor.

but we are talking about VGA to RCA & S-Video connector here. if ur laptop can use this cable to connect to tv, please let me know ur laptop model. i am interested.

I have an Acer Travelmate 4050LMi equipped with an S-Cable socket. The whole package came with a free male-male S-Video cable -- both my TV and my notebook have S-Video ports.

there is the catch. you were talking about s-video to s-video interface, but we were talking about VGA to RCA & S-Video interface here. try to be more specific next time.

Sorry guys... this is indeed a rare cable in singapore. Thus sometimes we may think that we are referring to another cable. Blame it on my lousy laptop. It does not comes with a S-Video port else I be as good as u watching comfortably at home now. :cheeky:

S-Video at both ends are common.

Another one S-Video to RCA is less common but can be found.

Not sure why this is so rare here.

There are a lot of eBays. But the thing is dunno if it will really work. Should I take the risk? Or continue to find?

I heard there is a shop at funan level 5 that customise cable. But didn't have time to drop by currently. Anyone have any idea about this shop?

hey, no problem. at leat u are brave to admit the mis-read. that shows a good personality of yours. :>

though you dint hit onto the query, u did point out that some laptops have s-video interface, which can connect directly to tv without going through a convertor.

just be more specific and elaborate, else will cause more misunderstandings.

cheers :>
