ooohh.. i dono izzit esso effect or my tire pressure.. haha i think my fc now is 170km.. after tat pump like 8 litres.. i guess can hit 200.. haha anyway still haven get to install airbox yet.. mayb can go more.. or buy broquet to increase mileage.. so anyway ermm is there anyway to make the fuel gauge needle more accurate? or is like tat one cannot change

Guys.. how did u all improve fc? Mine also high fc sia... stress nt long need pump.. And riding.. i feel some hotness around my thighs or legs there.. why ah? Did u guys feel so as well?

theres the broquet(wrong spelling) or smth. tat improves fc.. never try b4 =/ improve fc got alot of ways bah.. like cabu tuning, tire pressure, sprocket, how u ride(most likely). me i change gear at high rpm like 6 or 7.. then veri eat petrol.. u must state how u ride.. and the amount of petrol u pump.. at least can store 10l in the tank.. so u got to calculate.. hotness is always there, u will get used to it soon. =)

just my personal experience.

previously all the while, my sp can go like 200km before hitting reserve tank.

one day it dropped to 160km, got no idea why also.

 

so i took the bike to service the carburetor,

still doesnt help, use fp60 also same

 

recently my choke cable broke.

bought a new choke cable at $10 and diy myself.

after that, my sp can run like 220km before hitting reserve tank.

bascially petrol doesnt lubricate ur pistons.. if it does, then whats the need for 2T ?? i never heard of 2 strokers that doesnt put 2T... i think u dio dua by ur mech lar....

 

and lack of fuel doesnt cause piston to jam also.... if it does i would haf overhualed my sp many times... yep.

 

Whenever petrol atomizes in the carburettor, it absorbs the heat around it hence cooling down the air+fuel mixture. This cool mixture plays a very very important role in cooling the engine from the inside. No petrol = overheat ;)

 

You can even touch the carb when the bike is running. If you're using a PWK,TM or FCR you can feel it very cold. The famous amal carbs were so efficient, ppl say ice used to form around the carb ;)

apparently the previous owner just brought my bike for normal servicing over the last two years (spark plug/e.o) never do any other form of servicing

 

do you guys think if i do a full top service, clean valves, wash carb and tuning. will help improve my fc? my fc now is quite bad. dont wanna bomb money for nothing

2 years never full service??? even if your fc is okay, you SHOULD spend some money to full service.

my sp full tank can only go 180km+-...pump in esso for $20+- = 10+L...any idea how 2 improve it w/out using broquet wadsoever??

Actually, i have the same problem with my 2B bike, every other day must pump petrol. I learned that my riding style, to be exact is the amount of throttling you need to do to get the bike going. Learn the biting point and the correct gear shifting to use minimum throttle. Doing that i only need to pump every 4 days which is 50% improvement. The trade off is that i will accelerate slower and maintain a 70km/h cruising speed.... SLOW!! i know but that the trade off for 2B bike.

 

I am doing it again for my CB400, i travel 65km to and forth work everyday and pump petrol every 5 days. So 65kmX5 = 325km... cruising speed is 80 to 100km/h.

 

The amount of throttling you do matters.

 

eh... about 1 week ago i overhauled my bike. now still running in. everytime ride around 80-90. but the consumption still very bad. about 150km per tank. every time i top up fully one. how can i fix it. every 4 days go pump 1 time quite ex man.

 

anyway does insufficient 2t contribute to bad fc? cause i got my bike about 1 mth ago. the 2t is around 3/4 full till now. still got 1/4 left. why ah. thanks for the help in advance.

Hi all. i just got my sp few days ago. i top up my fuel to full for about 15 dollars esso 8000. i clock bout 100km till today but the fuel like going to finish already. anyone can tell me if it is normal or im doing something wrong. Cause i read most of the sp fuel consumption at least around 200km.

 

hahaha same for me..riding sp is like riding a horse..few km is already thirsty..better ride a camel then..but i like the rev so much..i dun even bother..NSR ( NEVER SLOW REV ) ( NEED SOME RESPECT ) FOR IT..

wah..i only spend $60 on petrol per month..:angel: n 2T is Silkolene which is RM14 n cn last 4 1 n hlf month..been riding SP for 3 years n still maintaining 270km per full tank...mayb u shld check with e bike shop..I recommend u Ramesh at JB as I've been servicing my bike there since i bought it but a thing 2 take note..let Ramesh repair ur bike & not e coolies...:thumb:

when i 1st bought my bike the FC was F*** horrible its like 100+ per full tank.eversince i went to wash carb and clean valve(took out a few screws and sum kinda level to clean)for $75 at planet gt improve abit la.now can go up to 150km(not including reserve).i heard clean valve must take out frm block 1 ah?? i oso dunno wads wrong with my bike la.wad previous owner say is all stock de. my riding style is rev up till 5-6 change gear. everyday use to travel to Temasek Poly and back to Ubi only. y my fc still so jialat ah can kind soul gif me sum advice?

i know ride sportsbike cannot complain so much bout fuel consumption. But its not working as normal. That's why im asking. Somemore i just overhauled the whole engine. All bearings, piston and rings, conrod all i change which cost about $500.

 

Maybe u have other problems within your bike your mechanic has not found out yet. My fellow friend used to have the same problem as you. But after he has overhauled his engine, his petrol consumption went back to normal. Maybe u should find motorshops which specialized in doing 2-stroke bikes.

bro, change gear earlier. try changing gears at 4k rpm instead of 5-6k. n travel at high gears is also betta. coz higher gear drink lesser petrol.

i pump my sp last time max is 11.5 litre. and fc is 340 tried. =) seriously. look for me and i recommend my mechanic to u.. shop is at ubi. =) spent arnd 1.5k doing smooth, fast and fuel save. =)

found out that the previous owner took out my air filter so i bought a K&N air filter and tuned my carb settings

 

mileage improved by 20-30km! :)

yo bro! tried leh changed b4 5k oso like more or less same nia. dunno is it tuning or wad la bt seems like arnd 4.5k rpm tt tym whole bike macam no energy leh. always use 98 petrol 1 now change to Vpower FC even more jialat bt still considered very smooth ride la
