SP Lock System

Hi guys,

 

read somewhere in SBF that it's possible to change the lock system from SP to CBR400 one.

supposedly it's safer cos CBR400 key is longer.

 

done some digging but couldn't find any info.

 

anyone know where can i get this done? the shop in rowell road got do ma?

and roughly how much this would cost?

had fever on monday

 

tuesday (yesterday) , much better le

 

ride bike go out to get something

 

come back, still a bit dizzy , i think i left my bike key in my bike

 

 

 

at night , realised cannot find key, rush down see if key with bike

 

but no

not in bike

 

i thought some angel take my bike key and put in my backseat/somewhere i can see

used spare key to open, but no, no key inside

 

 

so , if my key is not at home (it may be)

some one trying to be funny and took my key for fun

 

 

then i remembered someone in SBF saying

can change SP key system to the CBR400 one

 

so ..

might as well lor ..

maybe you didnt leave it there.. change your insurance to third party fire and theft? hehe

my insurance is 3rd party

 

not sure if it includes fire and theft ..

fuel tank and back seat optional , jus the main ignition.

its possible. i did it to my lock.

can be done.. but it's not cheap for a cbr400 ignition.

 

just change to a new sp ignition. cheaper.

most motordiam can do. just go to your regular trusted mech.

ah boy got sp ignition. 25 taiwan one 18 china one.

 

u can diy,

 

follow this,

 

1, take out 2 bolt tt fix ur ignition

2, take out main seat.unlock the tank.

3, switch ur fuel knob to close or reserve den unplug ur tank

4, trace the wire and socket(its easy. The ignition wire go between ur fork by the right side of the steering cone. go under main frame and above radiator den sockey is at right side of the tank area) and change ur ignition.

5, fix everything back make sure nothing's loose

Relax there bro. i don't tink need to remove tank. sp only use 2 wire can trace from the old ingition.

 

Just go scarp yard find a cbr 400 and can change yourself very easy.

 

Remember when you go scarpyard make sure you check that the ingition is working. for DIY

remember that the two bolt that holds your ignition are not allen key type. it's those star type.

i went to bike shop they sae juz use a padlock( strong one ) to lock the front/rear wheel sprocket or smth? thats wad dey do for bikes at their shop.. sounds economical n easy, any1 done tt does it work? opinions pls.. ! =)

imo, not advisable to do that if u're forgetful like me.

 

i forgot to remove my disc lock twice.

 

First incident, drop my bike. lucky thing not much damages except for some scratches on fairing & broken brake lever.

 

2nd incident, cracked my mud guard.
